Started The Marvelous Mrs Maisel last night with the wifey and watched the first 3 episodes. Great show.

Watched the first episode of Electric Dreams (it just became available on Amazon Prime) last night. Interesting. It seems to have very mixed reviews. We shall see.

I’m interested in watching some episodes, but not all. I read a few reviews and they all say that the episodes are completely hit or miss. Looking forward to hearing from you which episodes I should watch.

That was fantastic. Anyone who’s not familiar with James Baldwin's work should make a point of watching it. (Anyone who is familiar with Baldwin's work already knows to see it.)

I'm a few episodes into season 4 and everytime Adrien Brody shows up in the story doing his Italian/NY mafia mobster shtick I break into laughter which I don't think is quite the reaction the show was going for. It's almost like he's intentionally trying to do a parody.

Breaking Bad turns 10 on Saturday. I've been rewatching it this year. Currently mid-way through season 2. Obviously it holds up well.

To commemorate it here's a few articles out today.

the last two Sundays have been very lazy Sundays for me and both of them I fell into a binge hole with BB. It definitely holds up.

Thankfully AMC caps the episodes or else I’d get no sleep.

I finally watched The Handmaid's Tale. I guess I'm missing something because while I thought it was good I certainly didn't think it was anything special.

And I've gotten back to Alias Grace. It really plods along telling its story.

Same here, though it gets better if you pretend the story takes place in present-day New England.

American Crime Story: The Assassination Of Gianni Versace premieres tonight.

Reviews have been pretty good, but they are uniform in saying it is wildly different in tone from the OJ show. I heard someone say it is more like Mindhunter.

Tonight’s episode of The X Files was one of the best episodes of the entire series. That was such an amazing story.

Yeah that was really cool and again, such great chemistry between Mulder & Scully. I was shocked to see it was written by Carter.

I didn't realize until reading a recap that the same actress played both the lady in the nut house and her twin brother; and she was also the mother from the most terrifying/creepy episode of the X File ever - "Home".

The twin brother character was fantastic. His interactions with Mulder had me dying!

As for Carter, I don't think he's lost it. But I do think that he has moved on from solely an alien takeover conspiracy. It's been explored so much he's bumped up his game to other stuff. Sometimes it's silly. But I'm confident the dude can still create great stories. Even if they get a bit whacky. Like episode two this season. It was insane.

Yeah, last night's episode was good. Reminded me of The Ring or Final Destination or something like that. Two good eps in a row, we just might be on to something.

    For the non-subtitle challenged:

I just started a recent Netflix drop of a French mini-series, La Mante (The Preying Mantis). This show is intense, very tight--each minute has something happen--with some excellent acting. There are some flaws in the subtitles, like translating "ignorer" as "ignore" when it should be "don't know", but nothing that is a real issue. I may binge this one.

[EDIT] Yeah, scratch that. Writing goes down hill by Ep. 4.

Four intriguing dramas debut this week.

Tonight on Starz is Counterpart an interdimensional spy drama starring JK Simmons in two parts.

Tomorrow on HBO is Mosiac from Steven Soderbergh. You are supposed to watch the show with an app and you can kind of choose your own adventure in the story.

There is also The Alienist on TNT on Monday evening. Yep, it is based on that book everyone was reading in the 1990's and has a top notch cast with Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning.

And on Wednesday, the Paramount Network (used to be Spike), has a six part miniseries called Waco, Taylor Kisch plays David Koresh. Michael Shannon is also in it.

If you have an apple TV or Amazon Fire Stick you can get Starz through their app.

It's $8.99 with Roku so I'd guess it's the same.

Thanks. I'm not sure it's worth that.

I rarely watched Starz when it was part of the Optimum package. Not that the dreck they added in place of Starz is any better.
