Tonight’s episode of a The Terror was incredible. This is my favorite new show of 2018.

Taped and watched "The Problem with Apu" last night, and for those who haven't watched it, I'll save you some time and summarize: Some East Indians and other South Asians, including a handful interviewed, are insulted (legit and their right) white people, white people, (White) U.S. responsible for changing the map in the South Asian region, white supremacy, white people. What little we see of his standup and comedic ability sucks (tries too hard), though a great comedian, Russell Peters, makes an appearance and has a few things to say.

One small fact that Kondabolu seems to have conveniently overlooked: Hank Azaria is the son of Greek/Spanish, Sephardic Jewish parents, so he might not be as lily white as your documentary makes him out to be or narrative wants him to be.

"Taped"? I'm old and even I don't use the term taped anymore.

Betamax format. Is there another way you'd suggest?

Anyone else watching Barry on HBO? I'm really digging it so far. I didn't see this week's yet.

    Same. Hader is really good.

Yup and I love the banter between the Chechnyan mobsters. Also, Henry Winkler back basically playing Barry Zuckerkorn.

I think you’re mistaking “irrelevant” for “overlooked.” Also, you state those insulted by this have a legitimate gripe (bolded) and then insist your note about Azaria is “conveniently” overlooked (bolded), which suggests that nugget somehow negates the original insult that you believe is justified.

I’m trying to understand where you’re coming from here.

Have you seen it? If not, I recommend it. Regardless of what side you land on in regards to Apu, I thought it was a skillfully done documentary that would make most people at least think about how it feels to be "other" in America.

I have seen it. As a poc I’m all too familiar with how it feels to be “other” in our culture. I find too often white people dismiss this stuff out of hand and I wish they wouldn’t because I’d love it if one day I wasn’t made to feel like an “other” in my own country.

I love it. And as good as Hader is, Winkler is the best thing on the show.

Yeah, his interactions last week with the the spaghetti faced killer from True Detective while locked to the chair with a bike lock were great.

Even after Justified, he’ll always be Milton to me.

Love the show as well. Winkler's interaction and eventual dinner with the Detective Moss (Paula Newsome) was classic. Newsome's character reminds me a lot of Dr. Belinda Brown of Vice Principals, who was tremendous on that show.

Stephen Root, Hader, Sarah Goldberg...great cast and very well-written.

Speaking of Hank Azaria, season two of Brockmire begins on April 25. Another great show. I highly recommend it to those who haven't seen it.

I'm surprised! I'm enjoying it and I'm highly impressed that it still holds up with the same essence and all that this show is after all these years of being gone. Tonight's episode was probably the best of the season so far.

Ditto. It's getting progressively worse. The first show or two were okay, even though they tried to cram every single current event and controversial hot topic down our throats. I do like Laurie Metcalf, though. She always cracks me up. Loved her in HBO's "Getting On" as well.

Also, I never realized just how badly John Goodman overacts in every damn scene he's in.

Amanda Peet doesn't hurt the cause, either.
