    • Nick Solak, CF, Rays. The Rays have worked to increased Solak’s versatility. He began the season playing second base and left field but recently the Rays have started getting him time in center field. Wherever he’s playing, he’s continuing to hit. He went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run yesterday, raising his averages to .322/.421/.520.

I was just reading Baseball America's pre-draft scouting report on Trout and it said this toward the bottom:

"Trout's bat is not a sure thing, but he has a chance to be a solid-average hitter with average or better power."

Littell is expected to start one of the Twins' doubleheader games against the White Sox on Tuesday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.Littell, a 22-year-old who was acquired from the Yankees last season in the deal that sent Jaime Garcia to New York, will be summoned from the minors to make a spot start for the big club next week.

He owns a solid 2.57 ERA and 30:10 K:BB across 28 innings (four starts, one relief appearance) with Triple-A Rochester since earning a promotion at the start of May. There's a good chance Littell will head back to the minors after Tuesday's spot start, but a strong showing could earn him another opportunity with the big club sooner than later

It's officially about to go down! Excellent team to get your first ML start against.

The Twins have called up Zack Littel to the bigs as their 26th man today. He is slated to start game 2 for Minnesota today. The Yankees dealt him along with Dietrich Enns for Jaime Garcia last summer.

Better luck next time I guess? Littel went 3.0IP 6H 6ER 4BB 1K for the loss, and was hit hard with 3 doubles and one HR.

Ugly start. Liked the stuff. Throws significantly harder than reported. Fastball up to 95. Sitting 93. Throws lots of strikes. That slider/cutter thing he throws might need to be scrapped.

Interested to see the statcast data tomorrow.

Just came here to post same stuff.

Brooks actually had him up to 96 and sitting 92. Impressive stuff:

Good thing we got Jaime Garcia... so dumb

When he was in the Yankees organization(should still be here, but whatever), we got conflicting reports as to his velocity. Some had him in the upper 80s while others in the low 90s. If he's sitting 92-93, with his command and pitchability, I can see him developing into a solid 3. Would've been great depth for us here right now. Oh well, at least we got a couple of month of Jamie Garcia.

I still can't believe the Giants drafted Joey Bart. That's like 10 times more awesome than Swisher announcing Breaux, which was was great by itself. Considering how high the pick was, it might be the best player/team pairing of all-time when it comes to the MLB draft.

Is there some connection I'm not seeing? What makes Bart to Giants interesting?

Bay Area Rapid Transit. The San Fran subway system.

As others have pointed out, it's the subway/train system used in the Bay Area. The acronym is so engrained in the vocabulary out here though - because the system is not as thorough as NYC, you're constantly asking "can I take BART there?" when you're going anywhere around the Bay. There's a page on the BART website dedicated to explaining how to "take BART to the game" for both the A's and Giants:

    https://bartable.bart.gov/featured/take-bart-game

The Giants have never had a higher pick in the history of the MLB draft, and with the second overall this year took a kid who will have BART on the back of his jersey.

Littell's spin rate was pretty poor. Wonder if that was the main sour point.

In the Littell interview he had stated the Yankees told him his stuff was high. So conflicting.

Not good, I won't speculate on TJS because I don't know how much of a tear he has, but it's a distinct possibility. So how do you go from having a blister to a UCL tear? A strain is a tear!

Yeah, I don't understand those early reports unless they were BSing us or he suddenly admitted to them that he was experiencing some elbow pain.
