The Mets blew a 7-1 lead and lost 11-9 at Milwaukee. That let Michael Conforto be the third player since 1913 to have at least 3 hits, at least 1 triple, at least 1 home run, at least 1 walk, at least 3 RBI, and at least 4 runs in a loss. Teams are now 49-3 since 1913 when a player does that.

    Why?

I mean sure it's kind of a dump but there are some good decent food options and a great beer selection.

They have the worst hot dogs I've had since Yankee Stadium in the 1980s.

Mike Trout has homered in 4 straight games.
If they ask who was our star, give them twenty five names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Has there ever been a better player who was as underappreciated as Trout?

Hank Aaron during his playing days was very underappreciated. He's the only one I can think of if we talk about similar level of greatness.

That's a good one. I wasn't around for the Hammer but in the baseball history I've followed, that seems to jibe with what I can recall.

Detroit's J.D. Martinez became the first player since 1913 (probably ever) to have at least 2 home runs, at least 5 RBI, and at least 4 walks. It wasn't enough for his team as Baltimore won 13-11 in 13 innings.

Jose Altuve of the Astros became just the 13th player (Harry Hooper did it twice) since 1913 to have two or more doubles and two or more triples in the same game.

Actually Altuve is the 12th player to do this since Heinie Manush also did it twice.

who under appreciates Trout? Serious question. He's always and without fail thought of as elite and one of the best players in the game. For years now. If anyone under appreciates him they're either extremely naive or just a passive fan of baseball.

trout should be thinking about that question and then ask for a trade to the yankees.

I find it hard to definitively say that anyone is truly the best player in the game. The dude is elite, no doubt in a higher class. If you believe he is the best I would not argue with you.

Srsly? Of course people know he's elite but he's much more than that. He's arguably had the greatest first five years in MLB history, and he's 25 years old and only getting better. He's the best player in baseball and it's not even a debate. He's on his way to becoming an immortal player.

And, Trout does such incredible stuff so easily and somehow quietly that he doesn't get the same adoration as guys with similar talent levels. Griffey had flash (The Kid) that added to his unbelievable skill, Bonds was an ass on top of his insane performance, etc. Trout doesn't even have a proper nickname outside of the awful HS one.

Judge basically seemed like he was a video game player using cheat codes this April to us Yankee fans and yet Trout actually outperformed him as a CFer. No one was going, "what an insane first month from Trout." It was more like, "yeah, he's really good, nothing new there." It's as if his legendary ability/performance has become boring because of how consistent he is and how simply he goes about it. That's my point.
