This could have been so awesome.

    Curious why this fell apart:

-- Unlike the others, this one didn’t get to the agreement stage, but the teams did seriously discuss a three-way deal with the Marlins in December 2018. That one had the potential to send Noah Syndergaard to the Yankees, J.T. Realmuto to Queens, and either Gary Sanchez or Miguel Andujar to South Florida.

Probably the Mets. If they couldn't trade Bruce to the Yankees, how would they trade Syndergaard.

I would guess once it got to Wilpon he said no.

Cashman refused to include Albert Abreu in the deal.
    Calmer than you are

I am joking, but wouldn't be surprised. That's basically how the Gerrit Cole trade played out. Cashman refused to include Chance Adams in the deal, and he wound up eventually DFA'ing Adams.

Albert Abreu former top Yankee pitching prospect and currently a pretty big DFA candidate.

This is one time I won't blame Cashman. Wilpons' overall dislike of the Yankees probably put the skids on that deal.

Interesting. Sanchez had just come off a brutal 2018 campaign. And of course Doo had just put together his exceptional offensive rookie year. That would have been an awesome way to cash out on his talent and upside since it was already clear defensively he was a square peg in a round hole.

You certainly hope it was Wilpon and not Cashman's refusal to include a piece he doesn't know how to finish, such as Abreu, or Chance Adams.

Andujar will be a terrific hitter in this league, but it will happen elsewhere and the Yankees will likely sell very low.
We'll be upset, and Cashman will get another 4-year extension from Hal.

    And the beat goes on.

So let's say they make that trade and Noah becomes our ace. Maybe Hal does not ok going after Cole.

This was always their plan, wait until rosters were full and he wouldn't get claimed and sneak him into AAA.

I'll give Cashman credit for that. It worked. It might not be a huge deal but it gives them depth in OF in AAA which they were lacking.

yea if they keep Ryan LaMare in AAA too that would be nice depth. Both LaMare and Allen are good defenders especially in the corners and LaMare hits lefties, Allen is not horrible against righties (not great though).
