I need a feel good baseball story. I think Iíll watch Pride of the Yankees.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Well, it's the Rays either completing the 3-0 collapse or they avert disaster like they did in the 2008 ALCS against the Red Sox when that team was up 3-1 and needed Game 7 to win the AL Pennant.

Which might be around 1 AM if tomorrow's game slogs like today's game.

If that's the case, I'll just check the news, on Sunday. I'm not staying up that late for either the stable or the *.

Re: The 2020 MLB Postseason Thread

The Dodgers live to fight for a Game 6 on Saturday after a 7-3 win in Game 5 over the Braves.

The Braves were up 2-0 after two when Travis d'Arnaud hit a sac fly in the first and Cristian Pache plated an RBI single in the second.

However, Game 5 took a turn for the Dodgers after they challenged a sac fly play in the third inning. Dansby Swanson hit a flyball to rightfield where Mookie Betts caught it and the Braves thought they were up 3-0 on a sac fly, but Marcell Ozuna didn't tag third when Betts caught the ball. The umpires reversed the call and Swanson flied into a double play.

From that point on, it was all Dodgers. Corey Seager hit a solo shot in the fourth to make it 2-1 Atlanta before Will Smith launched a Jimmy Jack off Will Smith in the sixth to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead.

Betts made it 5-2 in the seventh before Seager launched his second dinger of the game, a two-run pummel, to make it 7-2.

Game 6 on Saturday where a Braves win ends the series while a Dodgers win forces a winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday.

2020 MLB Postseason digest: October 17

    - The Tampa Bay Rays hope it's like Game 7 of the 2008 ALCS while the Houston Astros try to make history as the sixth team in North American Professional Sports history to complete a 3-0 comeback in a best-of-seven series.

    - Both Lance McCullers Jr. and Charlie Morton were teammates in the Astros' 2017 title run, but Morton is looking to eliminate his former team as he toes the rubber as a Ray.

    - Meanwhile in Arlington, Max Fried gets the ball for the Atlanta Braves as they have another chance to clinch their first National League pennant since 1999 while Walker Buehler would like to help the Los Angeles Dodgers force a winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday.

Absolutely. Of course now the game 7 drama will be better for ratings though.

Corey Seager helps the Dodgers get on the board first with a solo bomb.

    1-0 Dodgers Bottom 1st.

That's Seager's fifth home run of the NLCS and sixth in the postseason.

We will have a Game 7 in Arlington!

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the 19th team in MLB history to force a Game 7 in a Best-of-Seven League Championship Series after trailing 3-1 after beating the Atlanta Braves 3-1 in Game 6.

Corey Seager blasted his fifth home run of the NLCS in the first followed by Justin Turner's back-to-back and Cody Bellinger plated an RBI single.

Walker Buehler pitched six shutout innings striking out six and getting help from Mookie Betts in the fifth inning.

Ronald Acuna Jr. cut the lead to 3-1 in the seventh with an RBI double, but the Dodgers bullpen shut the door forcing a winner-take-all Game 7 tomorrow.
