Kanhle's done for the season. The Yankees need another reliever.

Didn't they just get Chapman back?

Yeah, but Ottavino scares the crap out of me. Britton, Chapman and ?

Boone also likes to rotate relievers otherwise, you'll see guys like Holder and Cessa pitching in high leverage situation every couple days.

I'm sure the Mets will give us dellin back. He had a heck of a night for the Mets. 1/3 inning 2 walks 2 hits 4er with a era now over 15

He's such a head case. I'm not missing him at all. He's either on or way off.

They said his fastball was topping out at 93 and obviously zero command

Good point. As the starters get stretched out it becomes less of an issue. In the meantime they can mix and match the 7th.inning.

Holder yes. No reason to see the other guy you mentioned. Bring King back up.

I wouldn't blame John if he walked away from this site entirely at this point.

    No bueno.
I didn't even know Monty wasn't on the big team. Didn't he have the best spring of all pitchers?

Sure but there was no incentive to keep him on the roster the first 5 games if he wasn't going to pitch. You activate him when you need him the first time, before that you can use the roster spot on someone else who you might actually use in those games. Jordan will be on the roster going forward.

With the short season, maybe starters can go into the 8th or, heaven forfend, even pitch a CG now and then.

Pitchers pitching a complete game ?
More people have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run off of Mariano Rivera in the postseason.

His head is fine. This is the problem with Dellin right now. His velocity is down and he doesn’t have the command to compensate for it.

Roster manipulation they knew they weren’t going to need him the first few games so they “sent him down“ to have more depth

Need to give some of those minor league guys innings and see who emerges. There’s plenty of bullpen depth. I’d like to see more of Kriske in particular. Nick Nelson is also intriguing. I think Holder and Heller can be solid in middle innings. And love Mike King in a longer role/extra starter.

Monty’s start today was big to alleviate rotation concerns given how shaky Pax and Happ looked.

Kriske’s stuff looked very “meh” to me but we shall see. Even without Kahnle they have Chapman, Britton, Green, Ottavino, and Loaisiga. Not too many teams have 5 guys in their pen with that kind of stuff. And as you noted, King could be a weapon for us as well although I’d prefer to see him starting.

Yankees-Phillies Monday game has been postponed. Can easily make up as teams are scheduled to play the following 3 days.

Probably to allow time for test results, so other games are in doubt.

Doubt they will play much before Thursday. Tropical storm coming up the coast. Should affect NYC by Monday.

A game that has never officially appeared on the Yankee schedule was cancelled and then re-instated. But it still is not on the sked: Shades of a weird 2020. This and my by mistake deletion of ALL my Rolling Stones songs on my phone (I pushed wrong button) has me wondering what is next!
