With such a short season and every game being equal to 2.7 games, the regular season is basically round 1 of the playoffs. It’s being played that way anyway.

Big deal. No fans so not really a home field advantage. And how many times in the past have we seen the stronger team lose 2 out of the first 3 games of a round and then come back to win. Amazing how they can just make the playoffs worse with every change to it.
