I read that too on ESPN. Would be awesome if it were to actually happen.

And then Cashman can bring Boone to the Mets with him.

As if Cashman and Boone leaving will actually get folks to stop complaining about the manager and general manager. That will be the day.

Of course not, but at least it will be change of pace when it comes to Cashman. The honeymoon period for both, a new manager and GM will be very short.

You don't think Hal will let him out of his contract to be given a promotion to Randy Levine's level? It will make everybody happy, most Yankee fans especially on this board can rejoice and Mets fans will do the same as Cashman will be an improvement over what they previously had in place.

In 8 of the years they ranked #1 in one or both or those categories.

So yeah having the team that scores the most runs and gives up the fewest generally leads to a lot of winning seasons even if there were only 8 teams in the league.
No, they finished first in 1958 and beat the Braves in the WS. I think you meant 1959.

Two big nights in a row and heís up to .154! At this rate, he could finish the season as an average hitting pitcher

59 was his only bad season..Yankees lost the pennant to the Indians in 54 but the Yankees won over 100 games that season.

Hal would definitely let Cashman leave a year early. I doubt George would have since it's the Mets.

Ironically, the Yanks won more game in 1954 than they did in any of the 14 pennant years from 1949-1964.

Are there any legs to the article? I can't read it because I refuse to click on an ESPN site.

Who would you want to replace him ?
More people have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run off of Mariano Rivera in the postseason.

1961 Yankees won 109 games. Even with the 162 game schedule that was a higher winning percentage than 1954. Yankees also won 104 games in 1963. 54 Yankees won 103 games.

right. I was thinking of the most wins in the Casey years.

Cashman on the Mets would singlehandedly be the funniest thing ever. It would be genius from Hal's perspective.
