Yanks are 22-14 v ALE and Twins are 21-17 v ALC
It would be hard to image the Yanks catching the Twins while losing 3 games to Toronto so in event of tie Yanks will probably still have tie breaker.

Losing all those games to the Rays could hurt the Yankees in another way.

Thanks. Just hope the Yankees can play and win most of the games this week. Twins have a much easier schedule than the White Sox to end the season.

Yeah winning better than losing. Captain obvious but Yanks are tied in loss column with Twins but have 2 more games to play so if Twins go 3-2 Yanks need to go 5-2 and so on.

I think the Yankees go Happ in the 3 game series. The Twins have not hit left handed pitching well this year. Their OPS is 150 points less against lefties.

This week is going to be crazy. The top 3 seeds in the AL are all within a couple games. I think those teams will be trying to avoid Cleveland in a short series.

I think the best case scenario for the Yankees would be...

1. A's
2. Rays
3. White Sox
4. Yankees
5. Twins
6. Astros
7. Cleveland
8. Toronto

In this scenario the Yankees would not see the Rays, Astros, Indians, or White Sox until the ALCS. Beat the Twins and you get the winner between the A's and Toronto.

If this is the final standings then Yankees play As in ALDS (second round). If they win Vs As then the ALCS could be Vs Rays or White Sox. Not an easy road.

Division Series (best-of-five, with traditional 2-2-1 home team/road team format at neutral sites): Winner of 1-8 vs. Winner of 4-5; Winner of 2-7 vs. Winner of 3-6. Home-field advantage goes to the higher seed.

League Championship Series (best-of-seven, with traditional 2-3-2 home team/road team format at neutral sites): Winner of 1-4-5-8 vs. Winner of 2-3-6-7. Home-field advantage goes to the higher seed.

He looked very sharp. His pitches had a ton of late, sharp movement. They just hit groundballs that found holes.

I like King-his pitches have a lot of movement.
I dont know enough but he sh be good for mid relief unless he develops another pitch

Agreed. Even without fans, there is still a huge home field advantage. Just look at the records of the two teams.

Yankees: Home 21-7 Away 10-16
Twins: Home 21-5 Away 12-17

If we don't win at least two games this week, we might be wishing for wildcard games in Minnesota.....we could slip to a 6 seed and have to go to Oakland where we have won I think one or two games in two years....or worse yet, slip to 7 or 8 seed and have to go to Chicago and face their line-up or worse than that, to Tampa where our all or nothing approach fails miserably against that pitching staff.
