Would it matter? I am sure the players know Boone is Cashman's puppet.

I was just saying that Detroit is not the only threat to the Yankees, if that 8th spot is where they settle. Today's game vs. the O's now has some extra juice and this upcoming series against Toronto is pivotal.

Orioles pulled their scheduled starting pitcher for today's game. Instead they are pitching Kremer. Who is making his first appearance of the season.

Maybe they figure anyone can pitch against this team right now

The O's obviously know how bad this lineup performs against pitchers they've never seen before. They'll probably make him look like Sandy Koufax out there today...

No Gleyber..guess it's his scheduled rest day. Kratz catching. No Gary, Andujar at 3B and yes Wade in the lineup again.

Iím not watching. Why should I invest my time into this team when they are clearly treating it as an exhibition season?

If a player comes off the IL to face the Yankees he will play every game. One of our guys comes off the IL he plays one game and then has to be rested.

    Re: 2020 Regular Season Notes

Its sort of interesting how quickly the upstart feelings of 2017 that felt like the beginning of a new era began to feel like the ashes of 2012 and the lifeless days of 2013-14.

There's honestly no difference between watching this team right now versus 2013 except it might be even more depressing in some ways. At least we had the age excuses for the injuries, anemic offenses and vanilla starting pitching. Plus we had Mo, so a 9th inning lead was still pretty much a guaranteed win, we could discuss the legacy players' chase for various career milestones and ownership was smart to distract the fanbase with all the ceremonies for the 90s teams.

Now? What's the point of even tuning in? To see them strikeout 15 times and and wait for the bullpen to explode?

Not just Wade. I think you can almost put Ford in the same boat as Wade.

Somethings got to give. This isn’t the way a fully operational Death Star operates. Too many injuries, too many rest days in a season of rest, no transactions, regressive pitching staff, players out of position or no position, regressive hitting. The hands off approach isn’t working!

Someone already said it, they act like the playoffs are a given. Someone needs to wake them up and tell them how ugly they are.

I've tried to be positive. I enjoy seeing younger players come up, like Miggy and Clint. Would like to see Florial . RIght now, centerfield for the future looks open. I cant imagine another year of Gardy. Even if Hicks plays out his contract, they need to groom someone.

It's tiresome though seeing Wade ,Ford, Estrada,Gardener in there , on a regular basis.

Thatís an insult to Stephen Drew who was actually a pretty good MLB ball player at times in his career...just never with the Yankees.

Meh, guys like Drew and Roberts were cheap vets they hoped to catch lighting in a bottle but never did at the tail end of their careers. wade OTOH was a yankee prospect who was supposed to be decent but never has been.

I was referring specifically to Drew's tenure in pinstripes, who was a shadow of the player he used to be with the D-Backs.

In a way, you cant be angry at ALL of these backups ; except for Andujar and Sanchez they were never part of the plan and certainly not core players. Even Andujar is understandable after you miss a whole year.

The fault lies either in the worst luck in the history of mankind OR defects in the Yankee system of managing the health of their assets. Now, to overcompensate, every other day is a day off for their core assets.
