Game 6 of the WS between the Yankees and the Dodgers

If you want to see a great WS game between two great teams watch this one on the MLB network. Try counting the number of future hall of farmers including the announcers.....incredible number!

And following game 6 MLB network is airing game 7 of that series. Of course just watching a game played at Ebbetts Field makes this special.

Even though I knew the Yankees won this game, I still got anxious when the Dodgers were rallying in the late innings.😀😀 I was in the eighth grade and remembering watching most of this game on our 12th screen Dumont tv. Notice the batters not wearing helmets and listening to the great Mel Allen.

So you took off from school to watch it? Since I was only 1 1/2 when this game was played I would have been home but doubt I saw it, lol

I'd like to see this game and am hoping it will be shown again. What Season was this Yankees/Dodgers World Series from, please, and thank you ahead of time.

1952. The earliest MLB game TV broadcast that still exists.

You mean telecast, right? I'm pretty sure there are surviving radio broadcasts of full games dating to at least 1934.
I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, when they said "sit down" I stood up.

Yes. I meant TV. Radio broadcasts go back to the 30s. I actually have radio broadcasts of the 49 Series and you can actually hear the Yankees first PA guy speaking in the backround. And I just corrected my original post.

I lived near my school and got home in time to see much of this game. Also, those were the days that teachers let you listen to the game in your class.👌👌

But did they even have small transistor radios back in 1952?

No they didn’t but if you had a teacher who liked baseball he/she would bring in a radio that was big enough for the whole class could listen to.

I wish there were more WS games from the 1950’s available.....especially ones that had the Yankees and the Dodgers.

Oh Yes...Roger looks really embarrassed. He wanted to get back to the clubhouse! I love Phil's call on the HR.
