It depends. There are different types of changeup grips. Circle is the most common but I'm really not sure which one Severino throws:

They should re-work that pitch regardless. It has below average movement, has bad expected numbers (eg xwOBA), and it's now hurting him when he throws it. Possibly, it's been an issue since last season's playoffs. It should have been something they addressed this past offseason. Maybe the Yankees will figure it out in a couple years.

Time to sign Collin McHugh to a mL contract IMO

If he had anything left the Astros would have brought him back. He ended the season injured with elbow problems.

Astros brought in Jared Hughes instead.

Agreed. When was the last time the Yankees had a pitching prospect who developed a plus changeup?

I just tell myself, severino hasn't been good in about 1.5 years now. What july 2018 is when he went to crap?

I knew it was a bad idea to release Ellsbury and not package Stanton and Judge for Betts and Price.

Paxton, now Sevy. Its Deja Vu all over again.
More people have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run off of Mariano Rivera in the postseason.

    You can say that again.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

I know it's ST, but I'm torn between an atta boy for Garcia or an eye roll for Frazier and Stanton.

Kyle Holder won the ping pong tournament. Will that be his greatest accomplishment in a Yankee uniform?

That fastball has some serious carry. Really want to see the numbers on it.

Maybe in terms of throwing a lot 2-seamers and a slider, but not much else besides that.

Wright had terrible control (4.3 career BB/9), King (1.6 career mL BB/9) has excellent control.

Jaret Wright (not the post arm trouble version on the Yankees) worked mid 90s and bumped into the upper 90s with his two-seamer, King's average fastball in last year's short debut was 91.5.

As I read this, an image flashed through my head of Gardy pulling a hamstring making a really gritty ping pong try.

Stanton looked like he changed his stance. Maybe just the angle of camera, but it looked more like a standard stance.
