Him and a new training staff are number 1.

I would also trade sanchez or maybe send him to an eye dr.

I'd give the guy from Houston 5 million a year.

Not really. Give it a couple more innings with at bats like we’re having and he’ll be right. I sure as hell hope not but once they let Grienke off the hook it gave off some really bad vibes.

This thread could have been started after game 2.

Game 2 would of been a little harsh. A split in Houston is what I would if signed up for before the series.

Obviously upset, but we all knew coming into this series that Houston was on a higher level because of their two aces. Our offseason has to be all about signing Cole. No excuse not to be the highest bidder. None. Also, maybe revisit the Realmuto-Sanchez swap (this time with the Phillies). Add in reasonable prospects that it will take (even a Frazier). This is a good, young group but it’s time to spend (Cole) and make it happen.

They won’t get Cole. Instead they will drop $50 million AAV on 2 relief pitchers, Didi, and Gardner because, “payroll flexibility”.

Hopefully an ALCS loss doesn't cost us a chance at Cole. Astros owner hinted that if they win the World Series they will have the money to try and keep him. Plus they have no state tax so we have to outbid them by 8-10% or so.

Cashman and Hal are going to flex their "internal discipline." They're going to show us they're so disciplined that they won't fix a glaring weakness.

It amazes me how many actually think we're signing Cole. Does anyone pay attention anymore? Or is everyone just in hardcore denial? I hate what this organization has become. It used to stand for greatness. Now its "lets make the playoffs, increase profit and then choke"

That's just owner-talk. The Astros are going to make an offer to Cole that he has to walk away from. Dude is going to have to decide that winning WS is less important than where he lives over the next 6-10 years.

No room for a pitcher like Cole.

Plus Cashman will preach that with German and Montgomery back, they are basically adding two high level starters so they thought it made more sense to spend the money on the bullpen

So how is the 2020 roster going to be different ?

Clearly CC will be gone, hasn't been very good in awhile anyway !

    Birdturd likely released

    Get rid of EE

    Stuck with Stanton

Probably sign Gardner for one more

    German probably back

Torres your best player, Judge right behind

    Keep Le-May- Who

Sanchez is overrated and lazy, but will play 80 games and be injured a lot..

Makes sense to count on a wife beating loser like German. Why not.

How many more months before pitchers and catchers?

Next season is looking so bright and optimistic.

And German has to be traded for hitting a woman.

They will re sign Gardner, that’s a lock. And don’t be surprised if they talk CC into coming back after a full knee replacement. This is where we’re at.

Nothing is a choke. This is exactly where they were forecasted to be- easy ALDS and Houston beats them in the ALCS. Maybe game 6 or 7 instead of 5, but it's hard to beat a team with an equal or better offense, equal or better pen and vastly superior rotation, with 3 aces, when your team loses its ace right before the post season.

This Astros team has to go down as one of the best teams in a generation or two. The Yankees had a chance, but were far from favored. Then they got ZG and the Yankees lost their best starter.

And they arent going anywhere anytime soon. So if this organization actually going to go all out to get better? or are they going to be happy getting annihilated and embarassed by these Astros every year?

Ellsbury very unlikely to ever play again

    Happ likely gone

Wasted money on Ellsbury ( but covered by insurance ? ), Horrible player/ contract.

Voit not too important, anybody can play first at the MLB level

    Who am I missing that's gone ?
