    Didi, the Photographer

One of a slew of usually-ignored advertising emails that comes in every day somehow caught my eye tonight ... from B&H, the 9th Avenue photography emporium:

    Didi is a talented guy.

But what are you doing up at 1:21 a.m. You should be reading Yeats by a fire, or Milton at your bedside.
Standings: Big Inning 32-16; Blue Cut 27-21; Shoo Fly 26-22; Husk 22-26; Frank Pierce 21-27; Iowa City 16-32.

say it ain't so. Somewhere in the multiverse Yeats pines away for Maude Gonne.

I donít think Didi reads Yeats now, not since he read "The middle infield cannot hold." Something like that.

Nah, you're thinking of Shaquille O'Neal. He quit Yeats as soon as he found out the center cannot hold.

This could be a nice poetry thread.

"Lowering my head, I looked at the wall.
Called to, a thousand times, I never looked back."

Sounds like a pretty mediocre centerfielder to me.

Reminds me of the time Melky, after having been called to, a thousand times, turned to wave at the Bleacher Creatures. While he was doing that, the ball was hitbtonhim.

Melky never was the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I might not make a good play either if the ball was hitbtonhim to me.
