Re: The 2019 MLB Postseason Thread

The A's are on the board.

Marcus Semien drew a throwing error on Michael Brosseau who went from second to third and Brandon Lowe took his place at second. Matt Duffy went out of the game.

Semien went to third on the error and Ramon Laureano hit a sacrifice fly to right to bring home Semien.

The A's wasted another RISP opportunity.

Oakland is 0-for-4 with RISP and 6 LOB through four.

Not sure how many consecutive deciding games the A's have lost but I know the last one they won was game 7 against the Mets back in 1973.

Four home runs tonight for the Rays and all of them were to center and the opposite field.

Now, Jake Diekman replaces Yusmeiro Petit.

Eight consecutive do-or-die, winner-take-all postseason game losses for the A's, all watched in the Billy Beane Moneyball era starting with the 2000 ALDS against the New York Yankees.

I know they gave the Yankees fits this year, but I never take them seriously.

I think it is elimination games that’s a game where either team can be eliminated so in 2000 they were 0-3 in elimination games even though the As were only facing elimination in G5.

Edit, I’m wrong it is 8 straight deciding games since 2000.

And 1973 is the last time they took a deciding series game. They had no deciding games 5 or 7 from 73 to 00

Luzardo looks like the real deal from what Iíve seen. Would not be surprised to see the kid win a Cy young some day down the road.

Not a bad night for a guy who wasnít expected to make the roster due to all time he missed with injury.

That's right. The only thing missing for the A's: a new ballpark of their own.

Hopefully, their proposed ballpark at Howard Terminal is built.

The drawings look nice. Not sure if it will ever be a reality. though Giants, Warriors and Niners have all found ways to privately finance and make it work in Bay Area.

I saw the film Money Ball. Film had Beane taking over after the 2001 DS.

So Oakland got over 50,000 for this game. Will the Rays get even 50,000 total for their possible 2 DS home games?
