It's starting to feel deja vu for the Washington Nationals fans in Nationals Park.

The Milwaukee Brewers lead the Washington Nationals, 3-1 after seven.

    11 Ks for Nats pitching.

    Here comes Josh Hader.

Drew Pomeranz pitched two scoresless innings.

We have another review. Did the pitch hit Taylor's hand first or the knob of his bat?

Always fun watching some other team's game and imagining the NYYFans game thread crowd reacting to the action.

I'm pretty sure we'd all be screaming at the manager to get this guy Hader out of the game by now.

Re: The 2019 MLB Postseason Thread

    The Nats hit the front!

Juan Soto with the bases clearing single! A misplay by Trent Grisham allowed Anthony Rendon to score from first. Soto was tagged out trying to stretch into a double.

Washington leads 4-3 heading into the ninth.

Now, it's the Nats bullpen's turn to see if they can close it out.

Second error of the game for the Brewers and it can be costly.

So, Scherzer is off the hook, as is the Nationals organization for not simply starting Strasburg.

Instead, Craig Counsell is now on the hot seat for staying too long with Hader, and Grisham is the goat for not fielding the ball cleanly and allowing the go-ahead run to score.

Daniel Hudson entering the ninth for the Nats.

Can the Nats bullpen protect the lead and grab a win? This has been a problem for them.

I don't know much about the Brewers' bullpen pecking order. I just turned on my TV to watch a pitcher who had thrown a ton of pitches and looked a bit wild. The charitable view would be that he was the victim of a lucky broken bat single, and he pitched around the potential league MVP to get to a lefty-lefty matchup -- but that walk put the tying run in scoring position and left him with no margin for error.

    Nats win!

The Washington Nationals have won their first do-or-die, winner-take-all postseason game since Game 5 of the 1981 NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies, holding off the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-3 in the NL Wild Card Game.

The Nats will take on the #1 seed and NL West Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.

Hader is their guy. 138ks in 76 IP. Righties and Lefties hitting around a buck fifty off him. Heís susceptible to the HR but itís rare he gives up multiple hits.

The Nationals pitching staff as a whole, struck out 11 Brewers tonight.

    Another key stat is RISP.

The Brewers went 0-for-6 with no runs scored.
The Nationals went 1-for-2 with three runs scored off Juan Soto's two-out, two-RBI single and an unearned run off the error from Trent Grisham.

    Crazy first game.
That was Josh Hader's first blown save in 18 opportunities with a two-run lead this season and that blown save sent the Brewers home.
