That's fair. The biggest issue on a potential GM search is that ownership has to get out of their comfort zone and be open to someone who hasn't been associated with the team - their conservatism is leaving the Giants behind. Of course, it won't shock me if they go for someone with a Patriots background who has a relationship with Judge.

The Giants never think outside the box when choosing a GM. Their last GM search was done my former GM Ernie Accorsi who recommended Gettleman who already had a connection to the team.

Agreed, the most likely scenario is 4-12 or 3-13. Whatever happens, they need a new GM.

Well, maybe that would be best achieved by moving him to another team....

But if the first few weeks of 2020 continue to unfold in a similar fashion, the Giants have to begin considering a world where moving Barkley and maximizing his return while another club might be willing to deal a first-round pick isnít a totally outrageous concept.
I love the player, but never thought picking him at 2 made sense. Interesting question as to whether they'd be better off trading him.

Trade Barkley? And in 2 years it will be Trade Jones. Is it worth buying anyone's jersey?

Another thing that I noticed about the 2020 starting defense. 6 of the top 7 payers were all acquired from other organizations (Williams, Golden, Martinez, Bradberry, Peppers, Ryan) with Carter being the one drafted guy playing at top level. That is a severe indictment of how poorly both Reese AND Gettlemen have drafted.

It's early but if this is a lost season then Gettleman needs to retire and they need to bring in a brilliant GM from outside the organization.

    Nope. Certainly not in football.

I say as I have an Eli SB 44 jersey.

I've made some wise choices over the years. Banks, Armsted, Toomer, Tuck. That luck ran out with OBJ getting traded. Right now Jones is the only one I would consider since QBs tend to last over a decade in the NFL.

I had a Toomer jersey too back when the road ones had a little Giants blue n the numbers. Those were my favorite ones they've ever had.

With the Patriots I've had worse luck. Didn't want to be a Brady one so I have a Tebucky Jones and Mike Vrabel.

Yeah, I don't regret that one. He's a solid HC too.
