    Austin Romine Performance Thread

The Yankees' best hitting catcher Romine smacked a 2-HR against Chris Sale to stake Domingo German to a 2-0 lead, bottom of the 3rd inning.

He has done a great job again this season. Hopefully he is brought back next year with Sanchez constantly being injured due to his poor conditioning.

It would be good to re-sign him, but I think there will be multiple teams willing to give him a contract as a starting catcher.

Hard to believe that for two straight seasons, Romine's BA is better than Sanchez.

In his 346th game, he got his first career caught stealing. He's stolen 4 bases.

Not really his fault, though ... it was a failed hit-and-run.

I had to go way back to page 3 of the Player Performance Threads forum to find this one. Signed with the Tigers, one year.

    Good luck in Detroit, Austin!

He was a good BUC and seemed like a good teammate. Glad he's earned a shot at a more significant role with his new team.

I really enjoyed watching Austin Romine play. He never got enough credit for being such a solid contributor to the team.

Kudos to him for going from one of the worst players in all of baseball who was facing a DFA to a player who was able to get a starting catcher gig. I wish him well in Detroit. May he avoid the concussion issue than plagued Cervelli's career.

I'm anxious to see how Romine responds to an everyday role, but too bad it couldn't have been for a better team.

Good luck Austin, the best BUC in MLB !!
