    Let's Go Islanders! 2019--2020!

Playoffs are over. First year under Lou and Trotz was an unqualified success. Things should even be better next season. Post your Islanders comments here.

    Eberle back at 5x 5.5

Have to say I was indifferent about his return. Maybe even leaning slightly toward letting him walk and using that savings toward better talent.

Kind of unexpected, Was sure Eberle was the guy most likely to walk. But not a bad deal. Now hopefully Lou can sign Lehner and then Lee.

Trotz wins the Adam's trophy. Coach of the year. And Lehner wins the Masterton trophy. Good night for the Isles at the awards ceremonies tonight.

Totally missed this, focused on Yankees right now. Ugh. Would definitely have let him walk.

I know nothing about these things, but pre-draft rankings suggest the Islanders reached for their first choice.

Assuming the rumors are true, it will be tough to see Lee and Lehner go.

I am hearing they want Varlamov on short term hoping to get the Russian goaltender after next season.

Looks like Varmalov and Breadman are a done deal!

According to the Athletic, Columbus is still in it.

    Seems like an odd strategy.

Suppositly Valarmov is friends with him and they hope he can convince him to come over.

Twitter thinks Panarin is headed to the Rangers. I hope the Lee/Lehner bridge isnít burned.

And it is Varlamov for 4 years while Lehner goes to Chicago for just 1/5.

I get the Sorokin connection, I just think itís a bizarre approach.

Derek Brassard signs one year contract. Will take over as our third line center.

Skipping the Opener tonight. More important game to attend in the Bronx.

Watching the Islanders, DVR the Yankees to catch up during intermission. I can't miss the season opener.

Isles skated the first 5 minutes of the game and then just did nothing. Dobson only guy that played well the second half of the game.

So after a slow start Isles have won 6 in a row and are now in second place with 2 games in hand on the Caps. Plus the defense has become almost as stingy as last season.

Pretty sure the Varlamov move was tied at least in part to the fact he's BFF with Sorokin who has tentatively agreed to come over next year after his KHL contract expires. "Hey kid, just in case you get cold feet, we've got your buddy right here to serve as mentor for all things NHL/USA."

I thought Sorokin was undecided about leaving the KHL?

    1. Yeah, I read that too. Seems like a lame reason to make a personnel decision.

    -but-

    2. It was, indeed, an overreaction. Heís been fine. I was just really rooting for Lehner.

I was upset when Lehner was not kept too but so far no problems with the goaltending.
