Good luck Didi. Still think we will be missing him later this season.

Iíll miss Didiís personality, even if Torres can play short, and I think the team will miss his clubhouse presence a lot.

Phillies Phans are going to love his silly repetitive post game tweets. That's for sure.

Will definitely miss his personality on this team. Smart move to let him go though.

I wonder if he wasn't re-signed simply because Cashman was busy with Cole?

    Re: 2019 Didi Gregorius Thread

IMO Didi is a perfect example of why penalizing organizations for spending money on their greatest assets, their players, has hurt the game. I've always felt that payroll spending should be incented, not penalized, and that teams that refuse to spend should be taxed.

Had the Yanks been able to spend without recourse, they could have kept Didi for the next two or three seasons and have that much more infield depth.

On the personal side, I feel Didi did a great job taking over for a future Hall-of-Famer and earning our respect and loyalty as he evolved into a great SS, and his warmth and personality came shining through effortlessly. His presence will be missed.

Didi and Romine leaving was predictable months back. For different but ultimately the same reason...playing time going forward.
If they wanted him back, it would have been like Gardner.

You're saying neither would get playing time?

Both will get significantly more elsewhere.
