    Reaching 250 Wins and 3,500 Innings in the Same Year

    With 248 wins and 3,500 1/3 innings, Sabathia will hopefully reach 250 wins and 3,500 this year.

    Here are the players who did that:

    1. Randy Johnson of the Yankees in 2005

    2. Tom Glavine of the Mets in 2003

    3. Roger Clemens of the Yankees in 2000

    4. Greg Maddux of Atlanta in 2001

    5. Cy Young of the St. Louis Perfectos in 1899.

    6. Kid Nichols of the Boston Beaneaters in 1898

    7. John Clarkson of the Boston Beaneaters in 1891

    8. Old Hoss Radbourn of the Boston Beaneaters in 1888

    9. Tim Keefe of the New York Giants in 1888

    Here are the players who did it one year apart:

    1. Mike Mussina of the Yankees ended 2007 with 250 wins and 3,362 1/3 innings.

    2. Steve Carlton of Philadelphia ended 1980 with 249 wins and reach 3,500 innings that year.

    3. Warren Spahn of the Milwaukee Braves ended 1958 with 246 wins and 3,521 innings.

    4. Early Wynn of the Chicago White Sox ended 1957 with 249 wins and 3,737 2/3 innings.

    5. Pete Alexander of the Chicago Cubs ended 1921 with 250 wins and 3,368 1/3 innings.

    6. Walter Johnson of the Washington Senators who are now in Minnesota ended 1917 with 254 wins and 3,474 1/3 inning.
