Rebecca Traister's article about Warren's teaching history goes into more detail on that. I'm sure you've read it but for anyone that hasn't, it's worth your time if you have any interest in knowing more about who she is.

    https://www.thecut.com/2019/08/eliza...candidate.html

By the time Warren was in high school, whenever her mother heard her discussing a teaching career, she would, as Warren tells it, “break into the conversation and explain to whomever I was talking to, ‘But she doesn’t want to be an old-maid schoolteacher … Right, Betsy?’” The mother-daughter battle was so intense that one night, after interrogating Betsy about why she thought she was so special that she should go to college, her mother hit Betsy in the face.

Warren won a full-ride debate scholarship to George Washington University, where she majored in speech pathology and audiology so she could teach students with speech and hearing impairments. But her mother’s dire view of the world for unmarried women had a deep enough impact on Warren that when her old high-school boyfriend proposed to her just before her junior year, she promptly said yes, dropping out of school and giving up that scholarship. “For 19 years I had absorbed the lesson that the best and most important thing any girl could do was ‘marry well,’ ” Warren has written. “And for 19 years I had also absorbed the message that I was a pretty iffy case — not very pretty, not very flirty, and definitely not very good at making boys feel like they were smarter than I was.”

My God how nice would it be to have a President capable of showing sympathy/empathy/any emotion other than anger and hatred again?

I'd be happy with her as Attorney General.

She's going to make for an AG that will send shivers. Assuming the Democrats win, (unless Biden pivots towards a lampshade hire) this is in her future.

Stacey Abrams. Harris should either remain a senator or be used as an attack dog for the next D president.

Agree with this. She'd be great on the campaign trail attacking Trump - probably a lot more effectively than Biden.

She's a safe pick for either VP or AG as the Democrats should easily be able to keep the Senate seat.

I still think Kobuchar has a push in her. Hopefully Mayo Pete peeked too soon and she can swoop in and capture enough of the centrist vote to stay in this. If we have to nominate a moderate, I'd much rather her than Pete or Joe.

When she announced I really thought Harris would be the nominee, or would at least finish top 5.

No Pete, Joe, or Amy. There's very little difference between those three folks. I guess I'd pick Amy out of the three, but I really don't want any of them.

I thought she'd do a little better but at the same stage, I didn't expect her to be better than Warren, Bernie or Joe (after he entered).

If Kamala Harris is dropping out today, as is being reported, that means--among other things--that no candidates of color are yet slated for the December debate. Six white candidates have qualified. Folks, that's a huge red flag, and we need to talk about it.

Not my preference but if there is going to be a centrist nominee, I think Amy is far and away the best of the bunch. I may not agree with her policy ideas but I like her. I think she understands how to lead and how Washington works. I think she would work hard for the underdog in her own way.

I agree. Recent polls (more so the swing states) it will be a centrist. Warren winning is a nice thought but not happening

I would prefer Booker or Castro over Amy, but since they are centrists by nature, I'm not inspired or passionate enough to really care that much.
