It’s pretty close to tied. You have no business being in my rear view mirror this week. Except for Yelich. That’s just insane.

Is there a term for a comeback, but not because you did anything good, but because your opponent's starter imploded?

adding to that point, then your two remaining pitchers completely implode giving it back? One of them being your ace?

Oh yeah, it’s called choking. Cole is so unclutchy!!

Re: NYYFans FB League - 2019 Week 4 - The World is Upside Down

    The weekend is finally here.
Saturday is upon us. So we NEED to find out how we are doing (in red):
Sunday has awakened. Predict, we must (in blue):

    Formal Ferrets (2-1) @ Wolverines (2-1)

We start off with a good old fashioned barn burner... well, if Ferrets and Wolverines lived in barns.... The Ferry ones have put up the second most points so far and they happen to be playing the highest scoring team. There's a little sadness there. 206-203 is the score. Alas the further bad news for the Ferrets is that Wolf has a 2-0 PSR advantage. More sad is that one of these high scoring acts is gonna lose this week and fall to 2-2.
    Team Leaders:
FF: Patrick (sure would look good in Pinstripes) Corbin 32.5
MW: J.T. (sure would look good in Pinstripes) Realmuto 32

Quite the odd day Saturday was, for what was the highest scoring matchup of the week. No longer.
Ferrets up by 18.5, Wolf has PSRs at 1-0. Touki's minus 20 is a killer. Pitching this year... what a disaster.
Too close to call, really. But I'll call for the Ferrets to be happy when all is done here.

    Judgement Day (2-1) @ Buckeye Nation (2-1)

JD is taking the Eye's of Buck to the cleaners so far in this meeting. BN is down by 44.5000 points. The PSRs are even at 3. So the Nation could get back in this thing.
    Team Leaders:
JD: Jose (can you see) Quintana 28.5
    BN: Kole(stack) Calhoun 21

JD has plenty enough of a lead to take this one to the bank.

    The Lumberjacks (2-1) @ Evil Empire (1-2)

The Evil Empire can't believe they are back in this week. Still down but they expected a blowout. Jax lead by 18.5, PSRs are all knotted at 2. Double E could get win 2 here. The Lumbersome have other plans.
    Team Leaders:
L: Justin (breaking news) Verlander 27
EE: Steven Matz 18... oh wait, that's a negative 18. Um then, KHendrix 30.5

Jax took a dash to their overall hopes due to Aaron O'Blique's injury. They do have the lead here and their 2-0 PSR advantage SHOULD take them to victory. We know how pitching can be.

    Planet Express (1-2) @ Rookie Mistakes (1-2)

In a tale of two teams seeking a second win, the Express has the slight lead. The Mistakes are looking up at 23.5 points to make up in 2 days. PSRs are looking like just one a piece, with Exp having the advantage there. Some one is going to fall deeper into a hole of 1-3 soon.
    Team Leaders:
    PE: Jon Gray (Snow) 23.5
    RM: Yo (Adrian) Moncada 24

Pl Ex lead is 21. One PSR in this one and it's Jon Gray pitching for the Express in Colorado against the Phillies. Yeah, you try to predict this one. Go ahead. Let's see one of you's stick your reputation out on this one.

Right, just as I thought. You're all chicken.

Well. I don't shy away from a challenge.
Express skates to a win over the Rookies who make mistakes.

    Powerplant (1-2) @ Miko's Marauders (1-2)

The PowerPlant is being Mikonized so far this week. Mikonization is when you are playing Miko and Miko somehow (and no one knows how) sends thoughts to your head, via trainwaves, to make you bench the wrong players. Then he beats you. Miko also uses this gift to get people to trade him people you shouldn't trade him. All we know is that it has something to do with the middle of the night, trains and Canada. It's being investigated, but no progress has been made in years.
Anyway, the Miko is up by 38 points. The Nukes do have the lone PSR.

    Team Leaders:
SNP: Kenly (husband of Barbiely) Jansen 26.5
MM: Cole (clearly doing well due to some Mikonization) Hamels 32

The Powerplant, now wise to the fact that they were Mikonized for the first 5 days of this contest, came storming back on Saturday. Now down by just 4 points and with a 1-0 PSR edge it looks like the Plant will win this one.

Nope. Mikonization is in some respects like fishing. You get reeled in, then the Miko lets out some line and you seem free, then he yanks you onto the boat.

    Miko wins this one. Somehow.

Mrs. Bill and Sluggo (2-1) @ Romanian Yankees (1-2)

Missus Bill and the Sluggoes is skating away in this contest. She faces down the only team having a harder time then the Hoboken 22. RoY has only put up 89.5 pts this far in a week to forget. Missus leads by fittyfivepointfive. Missus also has a 4-2 PRS edge. So it's looking a bit grim for Ro this week.
    Team Leaders:
    MBS: Paul DeJong 17.5
    RY: (Beef) Wellington Castillo 17

Missus Bill wins this one while the RoYanks are at the hospital visiting all their injured players.

    HobokenSquatCobblers (0-3) @ Carolina Force (0-3)

There's singing and dancing in Hoboken as the

Oh wait, that was last year.

There's wailing and gnashing of teeth in Hoboken as the SquattyPotties are heading for loss 4. The Force are very in line for their first win of the year. They have proven to be a second half team and they hope the second half starts now. The Force hold the 3rd most points so far this week and lead this one by a whopping 98 points. More bad news for the Hobs.. Force has the 4-3 PSR ad.
    Team Leaders:
    H: Joey (& Ernest) Gallo 25
    CF: JPax 36

Squat Town's only hope is that the Force is with him and all the Force's 4 SPs going today follow the lead of Touki. Not gonna happen.
Force gets a win, Hobo stays classy.

    Guys with Wood (3-0) @ Larrupin' Lou's (2-1)

The Woddies keep rolling along. Looking for win 4 and the continuance of a perfect season, they lead the Lou's by just under 3 dozen points. PSRs are even at 2.
Odd fact of the week: The Woodies were hit with 7 rainouts yesterday. Couple that with Brett Snell smashing his toe to pieces, it's a wonder he has the lead.
    Team Leaders:
GwW: Brett Gardner (I'm serious) 24
    LL: Jake Arrieta 23.5

The Larry Pin Lou's had a really nice 61 point day on Saturday. Unfortunately for Larry, the Wood put up 71.5 points which will nail down another win for the reigning Champjs.

    The Best Team (1-2) @ Babe's Blasts (3-0)
The cheating (not really...) Blast are beating up on the cheating (not at all) Best Team by 40 points, and those Blasty ones have a 4-2 PRS ad. The Best Team is finding out how debilitating injuries can be in this League. The newbie has to hope the pitchers of the Blast implode this weekend.

    Team Leaders:
tBT: Omar Narvaez (I hate it when guys with names that are hard to spell are leaders) 29.5
    BB: Marcus Stawman 27

The Best Team got their selves back in this one on the back of a 67.5 point day. Down just 4 points now. The Blast, tho, have a 3-0 PSR ad. While I think 2 of those PSRs could put up unfortunate point totals, to bank on all three doing so... No.

Blast holds on to keep their perfect record, well, perfect.

    Men Stirrups (2-1) @ Ligers (1-2)

Lastly we land on the listless Ligers losing again. Down by 30, down a PSR. A pitching staff in shambles, the injured list growing. It was beautiful, but it's all gone sour for our favorite hybrid cat. The Commish is running away with this one and it ain't pretty. It's the Stirrups. They're magical. I think he learned it from Miko.

    Team Leaders:
MS: Walker (what kind of name is that for a pitcher) Buehler 30
    L: Christian Yelich (a mere) 47

Now we get to this one. For the second time in this early season, we see the Ligers putting up a nice point total. One that could top most contests. But they face the top scoring team again.
This face off is now the high scoring game of the week. The score is 222-216. The PSRs are 2-2. Something tells me this one is going to come down to the overnights and one of these teams will win.

    Enjoy your Sunday all.

(Root hard for the Ligers, k!)

Seriously. I'm turning into the real life Yankees of our league. 8 guys on DL, with a 9th coming up shortly. And good players too, no one I'm willing to actually cut.

    That’s why there’s a points wildcard. Don’t fret.

The overnight's will decide the highest point total of the week which will be the winner of the Stirrups/Liger seesaw.

Apologies to CarForce. It slipped by me that you were running up the high point total of the week as I was sweating out every at bat in the Indian/Braves game.

GDN... I almost offered you a deal to accept a tie in this one before that last MLB game. A terrific, roller coaster ride. I need a week off.
