Favorite moment of the game was after a lead off walk and Judge botching an attempted robbery of a Xander Bogaerts fly ball led to runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out, Paxton got both JD Martinez and Steve Pearce to fly out to RF. Both times, a normal RFer has to make a throw to home plate to make a play on a runner who’s tagged up. I mean, that’s freakin Mookie Betts at 3B. Dude’s got enough wheels to scamper home. But not on Judge.

Then Paxton K’s Moreland on something low and away. Fist pump.

Easily one of the half dozen best regular season starts by a Yankee in the past 20 years.

12Ks in 8 innings against a potent Red Sox lineup.

Fantastic last night. Showed his premium stuff for the first time this year. But stay on the mound, bruh.

Also, we need a better nickname than that clunky "The Big Maple" that some jackwagon came up with.

    What about Canadian Bakin'?

Make one of those old-school, bighead tshirts with him throwning smoke. Boom.

The guy on the mound last night is the guy the Yanks thought they were trading for. Let's hope that version or something similiar shows up a lot this season.

Time to tweek his mechanics and tell him to throw more off speed pitches.

Sorry, but I'll take the Paxton-endorsed "Big Maple" (given to him by his coaches in Seattle) over a reference to a mediocre movie starring a serial predator.

    Sensitive much?

Also, The Big Maple is awful.

Not sensitive at all. Just giving my opinion like you're giving yours. It's funny that you deem "The Big Maple" to be "clunky" and "awful", yet the best you can come up with is "Canadian Bakin" and "K-Pax". I think Bald Vinny's job is safe.

How is Canadian Bakin' or KPax as clunky to say as "The Big Maple"..?

Bald Vinny is terrible, btw. So, thanks compliment received.

Paxton's next start will be an indicator as to whether he can sustain such excellence.

Is it because he played in Seattle that people don't know the kind of pitcher he is? Just do some research. He's capable of repeating his last start a number of times this season. The only worry I have is his ability to remain healthy. Otherwise I have zero concern. He is awesome.

Tremendous job. I've always compared his stuff to Randy Johnson.

That is my only remaining my concern as well.

He addressed my other concern, which was whether he can handle the intensity of pitching in the AL East, with his masterful dominance of Boston last week.

The way this season is already going, that worries me even more.

Back-to-back studly performances from Paxton. Only this one was ruined by Green.

Dude is fun to watch. Just need him to stay healthy.

Mediocre? Come on K-pax was good. Nobody is happy about what he did, but he did almost nothing that was mediocre.

Dude’s Big Maple. Don’t like it? Call him Paxton. Until he rejects “Big Maple”, we really need to remain in our lane.
