Orioles pitching + Camden Yards = slump buster.

Still probably a toss up if he goes down for Stanton though.

BAL are so bad. They and MIA are truly terrible but BAL is taking this to another level.

Watching Dwight Smith play LF is hilarious. Running straight into walls in the gap and throwing absolute rainbows to home on runners tagging from third that:

    a) have more hangtime than Shane Lechler
    b) still land nowhere near homeplate

    The current crop of starters:

    German
    Tanaka
    CC
    Paxton
    Happ
    Sevy
    ------
    Montgomery

Granted, Sevy and Monty may not be ready until after the ASG and we could use MadBum now, down the road, we may have to sit Happ down if he continues to pitch poorly.

Judge covers a lot of ground. He's pretty fast and by my eye test, he gets good reads/routes.

He looks like an INF forced to play OF.

This is why Iíd prefer him in LF with Frazier in RF.

I'm not sure even the worst Devil Rays teams were as bad as the 2018-19 Orioles. The worst 2-year run Tampa ever had was 2001-02, when they won 117 games combined. The Orioles would need 70 wins this year just to match that. I don't think they're going to make it.

Runners will go first to third all day long on Frazier. Judge stops them dead in their tracks at second.

He looks like he's left handed, but the O's only had a spare right hander's mitt.

Itís really a shame, because the Orioles used to be one of the best organizations in the game (with the very best manager).

Decided to look up Peter Angelos just to remind myself how long he's been in charge. He bought the team in 1993, so if memory serves that would mean the ALCS (1996, 1997, 2014) is as far as the team has ever gone on his watch. He's long been a bit of a laughingstock around the league, with the Albert Belle signing achieving legendary status.

At 89 years old, it sounds like he's in failing health and his sons have taken over -- though this article from February says that MLB is looking for more clarity on who's running the show.

EDIT: Angelos' Wikipedia page is really interesting. I had no idea about his refusal to use replacement players during the 1994-95 strike.

His law practice used to litigate on behalf of unions (various builder trade unions, steelworkers).

very successfully so based on his wikipedia page. He was an incredibly accomplished class action lawyer.

I'm sure you're right. TB were bad for a long time but they were at least trying to win. BAL is in full tank mode.

I am not so sure. His arm was always well thought of throughout his development and he's flashed it in the majors. We've had plenty worse RF arms out there.

Frazier needs to get his body into the throw though. A 6'8" Aaron Judge and his 100+ MPH arm just being out there changes the base coach's math right away.
