Could that be challenged? I don't see how time could be called when the tying run by the pitcher is going home. They play was not over. All I could figure Torres stopped at 3rd (no time was called at that point). Not putting the bat on the ball didn't help at the end either (2Ks with bases loaded). I think Didi tried the second bunt with 2 strikes was nutty. Wild ending.

I can't confrm but someone tweeted that muncy just about admitted me fell on purpose so that Torres would not score. But i do not see him thinking that fast on the fly. I think if Torres had kept running and not stopped he would have been allowed but he stopped aqt 3rd and i think that cost them.

Next time someone hits a sac fly, the pitcher should call time right when the ball is caught.

Don’t know if there’s just more attention on it, but it seems the umpiring has gotten worse since replay was introduced.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

So Boone was told the umpire shouldn’t have called time, but the outcome of that game might make the difference as to whether the Yankees or Dodgers have home field advantage if they meet in the WS! Seems rather unfair, to say the least!!

Somehow, I think these guys are actually getting worse as the season progresses. The past week or so of games have been absolutely brutal.

Or MLB stepped in to have umpires stretch the strike zone in an effort to speed up the game.

    Re: 2019 Umpires Performance Thread

Why are there not multitudes of articles on this?
Why are people not more enraged?
Why are there people who are not in favor of calling balls and strikes with technology?
Why are umpires deciding games when players should be doing this?

I'm not talking about the Yankees not getting calls here.

Umpiring behind the plate is hard. A long game of being called on to get every call correct. That's hard for a human being. When you add in the fact that there are umpires who have their own strike zones, damn the rules, something has to be done.

There needs to be more outrage.

Graphics show horrible calls. People shrug and say, what can you do?

Something can be done and needs to be done.

    Enough.
    Just win!
