When George was running things he would give the fans free tickets to another game as a reward for sitting through a long rain delay. The Mets did it a few weeks ago after a long delay. But Hal can't be bothered.

I hope they get the game in tonight. What's a little rain. It's not like it's pouring outside.

I'd like there to be a game on TV tonight after I get off work. Otherwise, I'll be a little sad.

Yeah, but a rain delay s worse than no game.

I wasn’t always that way. Long ago, rain delays on channel 11 were great - Honeymooners, Twilight Zone, sometimes even F Troop.

Then with 5 minutes left in the show they'd cut back to the game that's starting back up and you'd miss the ending.
    Let the kids play.

Like you would not know how a Honeymooners episode would end? Has played about 10,000 times on WPIX.

Yeah, but we watched them anyway just to see “Baby, you’re the greatest!”

It is pouring and it feels like it is 39 degrees. Have they cancelled tonight's game? If not, why not?

Looks like mostly cloudy and chance of a few light showers starting at 8:00, so it looks like another miserable night for those who choose to attend.

I have tickets for tonight's game courtesy of the CC 3K strikeout offer. Not sure if I am going to make it/want to bother going though given the weather. I'll be monitoring the forecast all day at work.

If this move means we activate Father Time, I am not sure I would have done it.

I attended Opening Day 1996 when it snowed the entire game. George gave all fans in attendance free tickets to a game. We had a choice of three games and I chose a mid week game against Seattle. Turned out to be Doc Gooden's no hitter, the only no hitter I've been In attendence. What I remember vividly about that game is Gerald Williams made an amazing catch on a ball that looked like would be 50 feet over his head when it was hit.

George used to give free tickets from a long rain delay game almost every season. I remember once the Yankees played Cleveland and it drizzled during the entire game but no delay. And George gave us free tickets.
