Re: 2019 Regular Season Thread
Tampa Bay is just unreal. Anyone who thinks 1st is a given well Tampa is like 5-0 on this west coast swing then they got the easy O's etc

Re: 2019 Regular Season Thread
Will anyone who picked Gio Urshela to be our #3 hitter in August please raise your hand? You deserve a prize.
Seriously, has this season been the craziest in recent memory? Basically an entire roster on the DL at one time or another and the "next man up" performs much more than adequately.
This season has been one of the most enjoyable in recent memory and not just because the team is winning - it's how they are winning and who is stepping up to the plate.Forgive me for taking the Contrarian view

Yeah, what a great season, so far, very enjoyable !

Re: 2019 Regular Season Thread
And the craziest part is Gio is not just our #3 hitter because of injury he legit deserves it the rest of the way even if everyone returns healthy and is performing. I'll actually be pissed if they remove him from the middle of the order unless he's slumping at the end of the year or something.

How many more plate appearance does Urshela need to qualify for the batting title? Him and DJ are neck in neck right now once he qualifies.

Re: 2019 Regular Season Thread
Actually they have. Their lead was 7.5 games when this 13-2 run began and now it’s 9.0. That has to be tremendously discouraging for Tampa Bay.
Meanwhile the Rays are in the fight of their lives in the Wild Card race with the A’s breathing down their necks. At one point they were leading the Wild Card standings. Now they’re battling fir the 2nd WC, hoping to avoid elimination.

Re: 2019 Regular Season Thread
This kind of misrepresents what's happening in the WC. Yeah the Indians' hot play has put them in the WC2 spot, but they're actually starting to crack open a little space over Oakland for that spot. Up to a 3-game lead now (2 in the LC). The A's are the ones who should be concerned more than the Rays.

Heard Gerrit Cole got scratched last night with a hammy? That would be a big loss for the Stros
