This is the perfect time to trade The Cessa.

Probably. But right now he's more than likely starting game 4 of the season for the Yanks.

Except we need him. And if any other starter goes down with a serious injury we're not making the playoffs.

Iím taking the defensive/base running upgrade Gardner/Tulo provide over Birds offensive upgrade for now. Plus they allow the team to rest non Voit players at DH. And early season Gardner is usually quite good offensively. Can always call up Bird if Gardner looks like 2nd half burnt out Gardy.

Birds gotta prove it this year. Guy has been handed key roles before and he constantly disappoints. Until I see him on top of some quality ML regular season fastballs Iím skeptical.

Itís a pretty insanely idiotic thing imo. The dh is basically the 4th or utility infielder, rather than being the best offensive bang for your buck (at least in theory). Iím not sure why we got on this train but itís stupid enough to eat glue and drool on itself in 4 languages.

I think that's pretty much a given. I hope Flaherty is only there to man the bleeper.

Please let this be the opening day and semi regular lineup:

    2B Gleyber Torres
    RF Aaron Judge
    LF Giancarlo Stanton
1B/DH Greg Bird (lefty to breakup the righties)
    1B/DH Luke Voit
    C Gary Sanchez
    3B Miguel Andujar
    SS Troy Tulowitzki
CF Aaron Hicks (Gardner if Hicks is still hurt)

If Hicks is healthy and they want to lead him off, fine by me, but please let this be the starting nine.

I agree with you, this is what I would want..
But they have already said they are not likely carrying both Bird and Voit..
I used to think I was crazy... Now I am sure of it..

Nothing new. This just came over the Rotoworld from Brian.

    Expected Sevy is in May
Expected CC is Mid - Late April
Hicks is probably starting on IR (not surprised)

I was hoping Sevy would be back in April but I am happy they will take their time. We need 2 in the rotation in the beginning?

You actually didnít think that wasn't the projection after getting shutdown on March 5th for two weeks before basically starting his spring training throwing again from scratch? Itís the only way for Severino or any pitcher to begin their throwing again if he wants to avoid injurying his throwing arm again.

To start throwing which means playing catch on March 20th, meant there was no chance Sevy being ready in April.

I said it before and I'll say it again: Not signing another competent starting pitcher is reckless. Sign Dallas Keuchel.

and German is killing it. 4IP, 2h, 1bb, 6k, while sitting on 1.5x ERA this spring training.

Maybe we'll catch lightning in a bottle and German/Cessa can be our 2019 Andujar and Torres or something.

It is nice. This is a wonderful thought. Love the Ks - 6 K for 15 batters is sweet. I still worry on his consistency (last outing) went RISP but I happy for German yesterday. I still feel we are going with what we have in April/May. Losiagia needs to do well.

Florial with a non-displaced wrist fracture.

What is it with our minor league outfielders and walls? They seem to collide into them and get hurt. Except Judge.... bizarre. Working hard, but dumb.

Fire the minor league outfield coordinator

Re: 2019 Spring Training Thread - Official or not

Please stop it, this is on Florial not the minor league outfielder coordinator.

So is this another lost season for Florial?

    Whats the prognosis?

BTW this sucks because the kid was having a great ST, like the light finally went on.

We won't know how bad the fracture is until Monday when he's re-evaluated. It could be a chip fracture like Judge had, we just don't know right now.
