Congrats KC Chiefs . 50 year Super Bowl Drought over. Monkey off Andy Reid’s back.

Damien Williams should have won MVP

Totally agree. But they usually give it to the quarterback if they can get away with it. This has been true since Super Bowl III when Namath was maybe the sixth-best Jet on the field but won it because "Guarantee!"

It's a logical choice but I would give it to Mahomes. Down by 10 in the 4th, 3 and 15, his throw to Hills is the play of the game. Then later he totally crushed the 49ers and Sherman by a beautiful connection to Watkins. Those were MVP plays.

I actually don't really agree. 40 of his yards and his rushing TD were basically garbage time - the Niners didn't have safeties back to stop a long play, because if they gave up a long play the game is over anyway. Up to that point he'd had a good but not standout game.

Mahomes was fairly bad for a large stretch of the game (while generally under very heavy pressure), but still played unbelievably the 2 deciding drives and turned the game. He had the most impact and the most important plays.

If Williams won MVP, that would have been fine too, but I think Mahomes is the slightly better choice.

You mean that badly underthrown duck that Tareek had to adjust to coming BACK and thank god the niners had no one in the neighborhood?

This I agree with. Sherman is past his prime as a cover corner (he's really just a hitter/tackler now) but that pass was brilliant. Perfect touch.

You're all wrong. The MVP was Shakira.

I don't really agree with this either. Mahomes was getting hit as he threw that (literally got taken to the ground) and didnt get to step into it, and still threw it ~55 yards in the air. He and Hill clearly identified that nobody was in the neighborhood, and Hill is fast enough to make any late-developing deep ball an underthrow. Also, it may not have been the tightest spiral ever thrown, but it definitely wasn't a "duck", looked like a spiral to me.

It was an underthrow for sure, but it wasn't a lucky play or something. Probably 29 out of 32 QBs can't physically make that throw at all.

MVP probably should have gone to the D-lineman for KC who kept knocking down Garapalo passes.
As it was there was no real clear MVP so "give it to the QB on winning team" got the nod.
And pretty sure Disney said, anyone by Tyreek Hill, before the game.

Broadway's PostMortem - Super Bowl LIV

After watching Super Bowl LIV, the story of Super Bowl LIV was all about breaking curses.

Those belonged to Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs.

For Reid, he broke the stigma that he can't win the big game. Entering Super Bowl LIV, Reid had a total of 221 wins without winning an NFL World Championship/Super Bowl title.

Now with a Super Bowl title in his resume, Reid is no longer the winningest coach without a NFL World Championship/Super Bowl title. Marty Schottenheimer is still the NFL's winningest head coach without an NFL title.

For the Kansas City Chiefs, they proved to the gridiron world they know what it takes to become an NFL champion and they did it by coming back from three double-digit deficits and running away to victory.

As for the San Francisco 49ers, it was a very bitter and disappointing end to a magnificent season and Kyle Shanahan will take some heat as he let a 20-10 fourth quarter lead slip away and the Chiefs beat them in the little things in third down conversions and red zone touchdown efficiency.

KC had three more third down conversions than SF going 6/14 to the 49ers' 3/8 and scored one more red zone touchdown, 3-2.

With only three regular starters hitting the free agent market in Arik Armstead, Jimmie Ward and Emmanuel Sanders, the 49ers are built to win it all in the next few years. Question is, will they capitalize on their chances?

As for the halftime show, it was amazing to see Shakira and Jennifer Lopez entertain with their hits and I argue that halftime performance stole show and is one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows that I've ever seen.

The commercials? They were a lot of good ones especially Mountain Dew's Zero Sugar and Planter's Baby Nut, but also a few duds like Winona Ryder's Winona commercial.

But it was all about the Kansas City Chiefs completing the NFL's 100th season with their first Super Bowl title since Super Bowl IV. Patrick Mahomes has done it all early in his career and he's just scratching the surface.

Well, it was nice talking shop about the NFL in 2019. I'll see you all in 2020.
