Jesus, I know the latter was his 70th pitch and the former his 57th, but the two-seamer (96 MPH) came in harder than the four (95 MPH).

We'll never be able to know this stuff at mL level, but would love to know his vertical rise on fastball. IMO, this is really the key the Yankees are missing in pitching development (and command), and seemingly something that can be taught. Big key to Sev this year.

Didn't Cole throw 2 seamer a lot more in Pitt and switcher to the 4 seamer up in the zone in Houston? Or do I have that wrong?

Lost 2 seasons to TJS. Came back throwing high 90's with a quick improving slider. A gamble to place on 40 man but would have been taken in R5.

I'd bet everything I owned this was 100% of it.

Yeah, I'd love to think they'd eat the $$ even if he had insurance, because I think the 40 man spot has value... but if they could have clawed back $15MM or so by carrying him you have to believe they would have.
