Well hello Tyler. Nice to see you again...

Great game from him today. Yeah its ST, but he turned on a 97 MPH heater and hung in on some good sliders.

Not sure if it was noted here yet, but Pipeline released their Yankees Top 30.

I'm in love with the Yankees list, considering their situation as an elite team that has recently graduated multiple MVP-caliber pieces and made multiple impactful trades for MLB veterans. There's a TON of "ooh, I'm excited to see what he does this season" kind of guys on the list.

    Snatch;

Thanks for posting that list. I can't say for sure, but this might be the youngest top 30 ever for the Yankees. So many teenagers.

    Youth movements
The average age of the players on each team's Top 30 list could be an indicator of which farm systems will be next to ascend into the Top 10. Here's a list of the teams with the youngest average age on their Top 30 lists, which suggests that the Padres might have a very good system for a very long time, the Twins could rise to the top of the Top 10 list and that we should all keep an eye on the Indians and Yankees.

    1) Indians, 2/4/98
    2) Yankees, 12/26/97
    3) Padres, 12/19/97
    4) Phillies, 9/2/97
    5) Mets, 7/30/97
    6) Rangers, 7/10/97
    7) Blue Jays, 7/8/97
    8) Brewers, 6/15/97
    9) Twins, 6/5/97
    10) Red Sox, 5/18/97

Man that pipeline top 30's sexiness has gone down.

Hinges a lot more on lower minors lotto tickets than in the past 3-4 years or so.

That's what usually happens when you graduate guys who turn into top players, like Judge, Sanchez, Sevi, Gleyber and Andujar. Some others in there too, Like Holder and Green.

It will take a year or so to see if these young kids develop, and if some of them take the next steps, the Yankees system will be a top rated one again.

Well yeah, I know. Also a bunch of trades.

    Just stating a harsh reality.

Chris: I think the guy above may have been asking about Antonio Cabello. Also, they will option Bird to AAA, no reason to cut him entirely, right? Itís not like heís being blocked by Goldschmidt should things finally click.

Keith Law: That was my first guess Ė Cabello was my #9 prospect in the Yankees system, and I even had one exec suggest him as a top 100 guy, so yeah, heís for real.

I'd like to see Tillman signed to a Milb deal. He was fighting a bad groin injury last year.. Might be an interesting scrap heap signing..

Yankees prospect Mike King (stress reaction) says heís shooting for a ďMay 1st-ishĒ return to full-season ball.

Live BPs, sim games in 2-3 weeks, and then long buildup to 5+ innings as a starter.

ďIím trying every day to speed it up, just because I feel really good,Ē he said.

Just dumb as it was an unnecessary aggressive play on his part and now he's down for perhaps 2-3 months!

I donít know what he should do differently. He knows between his great performance and the absence of Hicks, there are a ton of eyes on him. He probably feels that, even in games that donít count, going half-speed might work against him.

You think Boone or Cashman were happy he went full speed on that play?

I donít think so...but what was his mindset? If Gardner pulls a hammy tomorrow, I want them to think of me first.

Man, I'm just disappointed because I thought this was going to be his breakout season. I'm totally bummed right now.

Yup, and if Hicks doesnít start to come around, this team is really thin at CF.

I never thought Florial was an option this year anyway. I just wanted him to have a great year so he could become an option sometime in 2020.

So Florial avoids surgery and is in a cast for the next few weeks. Perhaps the system gets him back in May.

Finally one team decides to treat minor leaguer better. Sadly it's not the Yankees. I could see the Jays having a big competitive advantage if other teams don't follow.
