    YANKEES ACQUIRE:

    Josh Stowers, OF
    Age: 21

Stowers was Seattle's second-round pick in 2018 out Louisville, and ranked as the No. 12 prospect in the short-season Northwest League as well as the No. 9 prospect in the Mariners' Top 30. He's a potentially plus hitter with average power and has a body built like former big league outfielder Marlon Byrd. He's got plus speed in the outfield that will help stay in center field, provided he learns to improve his routes and jumps. If he has to move to a corner, his below-average arm likely limits him to left field.

So they add another young right hand hitter. With lefties becoming scarce in NY I have to wonder how many quality lefty hitters are in the system?
    Let the kids play.

I dont think anyone made it from the Yankees...

It took 2 years to go from one of the best farms in baseball to one of the worst.

    My bad...

To be fair, its because most moved up or were traded.

Also, it is far from the worst. The system is likely in the middle of the pack, down for the reasons you mention, and buoyed because of the significant number of high-potential prospects at the lower levels.

I think the system is stacked as you said at the lower levels. This crop i like more then many in the past because we have GOLD...Young controllable pitching. Some will have health issues but so many coming down the pike our system in a year or two IMO can go after just about any player available.

This is why he got slapped. The system, even it's current shape following the graduation of multiple all-stars and the trading of many blue-chip pieces, is nowhere even remotely close to the worst in the game.

Jeez, I remember when he was drafted and involved in the failed Cliff Lee trade. I'm getting old.

He and Corbin Joseph were at one time the 2B/SS Post-Robbie combo platter of the future.

Prospects, man....they’ll break your heart. So trade ‘em for aces while you can

I had to read that headline about 7 times to believe it. That David Adams? The David Adams? Cliff Lee failed trade David Adams?

Starting from the post-future Edgar Martinez ish DH Eric Duncan era, all the future Yankee XXX players that I can remember in no particular order:
Future 3/5 of the rotation in Hughes-Joba-Kennedy
Heir to Pettitte, Manny Banuelos (and the fellow Killer-B Andrew Brackman)
Yankees version of Mike Piazza/potential Miguel Cabrera-bat Jesus Montero
    Bernie's heir Slade Heathcott/Mason Williams
    Heir to Jeter Eduardo Nunez
    Future 1B Andy Phillips/Shelley Duncan
Heir to Mo Mark Melancon and setup man JB Cox
    And many more...

I must admit, sometimes that "homegrowness" clouds your view on prospects...

So they have quantity over quality... Hope you guys are right. Until those young kids start scratching the top 100, its still not a great farm right now IMO. Florial was but then got hurt. And he needs to work on that K rate IMO. Loaisiga, I guess we will see. He started out looking solid, but then, it all just fell apart on him.

What are your guys thoughts on King and Whitlock? Those 2 really impress me looking at the numbers. Can they be future starters?

Do you guys think Chance Adams can regain his 2016-2017 form? I think he had an injury last year IIRC and it hurt his velocity.

    2016 - A/AA, 13-1, 2.33 ERA, 127IP/144Ks/39BBs, .903 WHIP
    2017 - AA/AAA, 15-5, 2.45 ERA, 150IP/135Ks/58BBs, 1.078 WHIP
    2018 - AAA, 4-5. 4.78 ERA, 113IP/113Ks/58BBs, 1.565 WHIP

Injury? Or just a minor leaguer who wont make it as a starter in the BIGs?

It would be great if he rebounded and can get some good starts for us through the season.

IMO Chance had the tools to be an outstanding RP...From what i have witnessed I feel a move to the pen would do both parties well and see if he can regain that sustained velo for an inning or two. After two seasons of trying to start his stuff fades big time after 75-80 pitches.

The SWB rotation looks good to start the season. King, Hale, Hutchison, German, Cortez...Nestor has pitched Real well in winter ball.

Got to have Loaisiga in there, and Acevedo is in his second year on the 40 man, so it’d be nice to push him a bit too.

Could be both but depends on how ST goes...Adams as well but fingers crossed he's in the BP.

Does Albert Abreu start out in Trenton this season? I'd really like to see what he looks like over about 120 innings if he can stay healthy this year.
