Three chances to draft Jimmy Lewis and we sit there scratching our butts as usual.(Just venting)

I really do like the Sanford pick though. Sikkema could pan out as well as Smith who I like a little better than Volpe.

The MacDonald kid hits some moon shots. Run a youtube search and I think we can all agree that would do nicely.

Says he patterns his swing after Bellinger the Younger, but his setup and hand placement are awfully noisy. Suspect he'll have to work on that in order to catch up to minor league velocity.

Where Volpe does get off-the-chart marks is for makeup and baseball IQ, as might be expected from someone who has been on the showcase circuit since he was a preteen.
I am beyond tired of our strategy of drafting players with the idea of "B-B-BUT MUH 80 GRADE MAKEUP!!!!". You know what you can learn in a world-class organization? How to work hard and apply yourself. You know what you can't? A stone cold arm.

He's not used to it, he didn't know what to do with himself.

That's pretty much how we landed Judge and the main drafted pieces of the core.

This is like the dude that hangs onto the friendship with the girl in the hopes that her marriage falls apart and she finally notices him.

Just wondering if anyone knew where some of our draftees would slot in the prospect rankings? Anyone care to try to post their top 10 or top 15?

Most posters around here have limited, or zero knowledge of the draftees other than the few blurbs that are out there, some of which have been posted here. I would wait for some of the big boys to come out with post-draft rankings for some guidance.

I think you'll see the Yankees top four picks all rank in the Top 30. I'd expect Volpe in the 10-15 range in MLB.com's new update with Smith, Sikkema, and Sanford in the 20-30 range.

Going into the draft Fangraphs had Volpe's Future Value at 45 with Smith, Sikkema, Agnos as 40s.

Based on their FVs for the current Yankee prospects, Volpe would be around 10 and others listed in the top 30.

Fangraphs is updating their rankings soon (by Monday, he said), so we will find out shortly.
