Although I wouldn't mind if they put Voit a little higher...maybe switch with Stanton.
With Sanchez hitting thats a sick 7-8-9.

Schedule rotates. Next season AL WC game will be on Tuesday.

Hechavarria. There are a couple of scenarios where he could get in the game. If Kahnle gets in the game it'll be inning 37. Not likely.
    Let the kids play.

So many people. So Hechavarria is likely on there for defense. And CC and Lynn are both better options if you want another pitcher regardless of the situation. I'd feel much more confident in either of those guys coming out of the bullpen mid-inning in a role they're not used to than a far less effective pitcher in Kahnle who is more comfortable in those situations.

OH I just looked back at Khanle's game logs and seasion stats. Yeah no f-ing way he's anywhere near the post season roster. My bad on that one.

I'm guessing they do the same thing as last year vs. Minnesota and only take 10 pitchers with a deep bench. They also left off the ALDS Game 1 starter.

I'm not sure Holder makes it for the WC roster either. His last 5 outings have been less than inspiring.

With a one game playoff we can go with a deep bench and we should carry 3 catchers. I don’t want to see Gary catching Britton or Chapman to close it out. Higgy will be insurance in case Romine gets hurt in the late innings.

Agreed. 3rd catcher could be useful.

They could PR for Gary. Replace with Romine for defense. PH for Romine. Then go to Higgy to finish game.

    Bench (5)
Romine, Walker, Gardner, Bird (situational PH only or 1b defense replacement), Wade (PR only)

If they win I suspect they will drop Kahnle & Bird for CC & Lynn for the ALDS roster and might swap out Wade for someone like Torreyes.

I would replace Kahnle with CC in the pen

From A's perspective. Reading this makes me nervous and cringe tomorrow's game matchup vs A's.

    http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2...team-does-best

    Best in:

    • Road scoring
    • Road OPS, road wOBA
    • Second-half OPS
    • OPS by 7-8-9 hitters
    • OPS vs. power pitchers
    • Highest launch angle, batters
    • Advancing runners on second base with none out
    • Fewest outs made on the bases
    • WAR & defensive runs saved, third base
    • Defensive runs saved, first base
    • Team defensive efficiency (rate of all batted balls converted into outs)
    • Defensive efficiency on ground balls
    • Outs made on "remote" plays -- those classified by Inside Edge as 1 percent to 10 percent likely
    • Record in one-run games

If they don't start Tanaka, he has relief experience and could act as a fireman. In 2013 Japan Series, He closed out Game 7 after pitching a Game 6 complete game.

I know you're not supposed to look ahead but I really want to see Tanaka get the WC start. First I like him in this kind of game, but I also like Happ, Severino in Boston and Tanaka in a potential pivotal game 3 start

Word around here is that Sonny Gray won’t be on the Yankees’ wild-card roster, which makes sense.

Sonny Gray tells me he is not on the wild-card roster, isn’t sure if he would be on for the next round if Yankees advance but is hopeful. “I’m just hanging out,” he says.

Sonny Gray tells me he knew before he was traded that the A’s were going to be really good but he’s a little surprised it happened as soon as this year.

I like it. Assuming we win the WC game, it sets up Happ to start the ALDS game 1 at Fenway and Sevy to start game 3 at home.
