Is john flaherty on the disabled list?

I haven's seen John Flaherty on YES in ages. Funny, I wasn't crazy about him when he first started working games but have come to appreciate him more and more each year. I watch every game and very rarely miss a post-game show and have noticed he hasn't been on lately. Did I miss something? Has he gotten another gig?

Do you mean among booth personalities? Because if we include the studio, Flaherty is Bob Costas next to Nancy Newman.

As for Flaherty, he's still listed as an announcer on the YES site:

    http://web.yesnetwork.com/announcers...p?id=jflaherty

Maybe he is on the DL. Or (I hope so for his sake) just taking a vacation.

I know his son recently enrolled at West Point - not sure if it has anything to do with his absence, just reporting.

Now wait, don't you agree that Greg Bird is "trying to do too much"? John Flaherty knows ....

I don't normally watch the Yankees pre or Post game shows, but I did put Yes on this aft at 12:30 and there was John Flaherty doing the pre game show.

    How was his body language?

Its obvious he was trying to do too much there. He needs to stop leaning forward so much when he delivers, needs to relax and enjoy the moment. Have some fun.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Neither are worse than Al Leiter who bumbles and stumbles his way through every broadcast. Heck, he barely has any insight at all. He just piggybacks off everything Michael Kay says or he tells a very uninteresting story that last an inning and a third.

I like Leiter, actually. Different than most, I do not really like Cone. I think that all David does is gather up the analytical stats pre-game and regurgitate them throughout the telecast. He can be critical at times, but so can Leiter. I do think that either of them could be excellent pitching coaches and would have loved to see that happen with the changing of the guard. Of course, they decided to keep Rothchild who I don't believe has helped anyone on that staff.

I like Leiter a lot, even if heís a bit too low-key. Bumbling? No insight? Hard to believe weíre listening to the same guy.

I agree that a one has gone too anslytics-crazy. Itís great up to a point - itís good when it informs the broadcast, not so much when it becomes the broadcast.

Forbes likes Cone. I do, too.
