Do you think the yankees are commuting insurance fraud with ellsbury?

I know it's very far fetched, but I did not know the yankees had an insurance policy on Ellsbury. Everything just seems very convenient.

If they are committing ( as opposed to commuting) fraud, Cash is three steps ahead and has this under control.

I don't even see any comments in that article supporting this theory. The author is way out there.

OK, then how do you explain Shreve? Maybe he's not guilty of insurance fraud. Maybe he's guilty of impersonating a GM.

This would require multiple people, who do not get a dime out of it, to become accomplices to a multi million fraud operation, including Cashman, Ellsbury, trainers, doctors, etc so the bossman can save money?

Good luck with that sales pitch.

If there is fraud, it would be between Ellsbury who just wants to call it quits (if that's the case) and Yankees who are happy to play along.

Seriously, what do (or did they ever) say is the injury that has Ellsbury out for ---- ever?

Originally, a right oblique strain. Then a hip injury, and plantar fascitis. Then a back injury. Plus he was sick.

Creeping Pavano-ism does not equal insurance fraud. That being said, the spooky music in the back of my mind for several weeks now is that Ellsbury might declare himself ready to play. The Roster Construction King can't even find a way to get Clint Frazier on the team, yikes what will happen if he has to give a spot to Ellsbury?

Cashman might not be able to carry more than 15 pitchers.

    Plus, he's Jacoby Ellsbury.

    First no, they're not..
Second his agent is Boras. If there was even a semblance of legitimate malfeasance here, Boras would be screaming about it from the top of Everest.

I agree to your first point. There's not.

As to the second, why would Boras care? His client is still getting paid. Boras would complain if something underhanded was affecting his client's NEXT contract. Ellsbury's injuries aren't affecting his future employment near as much as his playing performance. If anything, Ellsbury looks better as a denizen of the Disabled List than he would as the Yankees' fifth outfielder (and without his contract, sixth).
