Re: 2018-19 NHL and AHL Hockey Season Thread

The struggles continue for Martin Jones.

The San Jose Sharks #1 goaltender was pulled after allowing two goals on seven shots in the first period as Peter DeBoer and Team Teal were whitewashed in Game 4 in a 5-0 rout to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Max Pacioretty electrified the T-Mobile Arena crowd with two goals and two assists.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 shots for his shutout.

The frustration continued for the Sharks as Evander Kane and Timo Meier both received game misconducts for roughing in the third period.

Jones' backup goalie Aaron Dell wasn't much better as he allowed three more goals on 20 shots on goal.

Vegas can punch their ticket to Round 2 on Thursday from San Jose's SAP Center.

There will be a Best-of-Three in the Nashville Predators-Dallas Stars series.

The Stars head back to the Music City after a 5-1 rout in Game 4 to tie the series at 2-2.

Dallas chased Pekka Rinne after the Nashville goaltender surrendered four goals in eight shots almost 14 minutes into the game.

Three of the four goals came on the power play from Roope Hintz, former Predator Alexander Radulov and Mats Zuccarello.

Hintz scored twice in the contest overall.

Roman Josi spoiled Ben Bishop's shutout bid at 8:11 in the third period.

Bishop was still stellar with 34 saves.

Game 5 inside Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Saturday.

David Pastrnak scored twice and Tuukka Rask had 38 saves in a high scoring clash.

Re: 2018-19 NHL and AHL Hockey Season Thread

Will there be another upset in the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs?

Pepsi Center is going absolutely bananas as the Colorado Avalanche outlast the Calgary Flames, 3-2 in overtime to take a 3-1 series lead.

After a scoreless first period, Calgary drew first blood in the second as Elias Lindholm scored his first goal of the playoffs on the power play at 3:25 to give the Flames a 1-0 lead after two periods.

It looked like Calgary was going back to the Scotiabank Saddledome tied at 2-2 after Derek Ryan doubled their lead at 6:58 of the third period.

But like in Game 2, the Avs refused to quit in the third period and rallied to force overtime.

J.T. Compher cut the deficit to one at 8:10 and with 2:50 seconds left in regulation, Mikko Rantanen tied the game at two on the power play.

In overtime, Ian Cole took a delay of game penalty, but like in Game 2, the Avs killed off the penalty and Rantanen, with the Avs on the attack, fired a one-time laser past Mike Smith for the game winner at 10:23 of the first overtime period.

Smith had 49 saves in a losing effort while his opposite number Philipp Grubauer also had a very good game with 35 saves.

The Avs can punch their ticket to Round 2 for the first time since 2008 if they beat the Flames in Game 5 in Calgary on Friday.
