Congrats to the Blues and their fans. I always love seeing the road team's home arena full of fans watching on the big screen. I don't think I've ever seen two stadiums full of people though like there were last night (St. Louis let people watch at the Enterprise Center and Busch Stadium).

Binnington was a man on a mission last night. What a year that kid has had. So happy for him. Also happy for Bouwmeester who finally gets a Cup after 16 seasons.

I guess I'm petty, but seeing Marchand almost crying on the ice after the game ended brought me such joy.

And O'Reilly named MVP. A name you would think would be a Bruins player. And was about 40 years ago, lol

And this is why people hate Boston fans.

The braggadocio of Boston fans wouldn't bother me so much if they also didn't simultaneously play up the "long suffering victim fanbase" angle.

BB55's Three Studs and Three Duds - 2019 Stanley Cup Finals

Here are my final three studs and three duds for the 2018-19 NHL season with the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals.

    Three Studs
    1. St. Louis Blues
Why? The Blues breaking their 52-year Stanley Cup title drought from where they came from in the depths of despair is a story in its self. Job well done from Craig Berube and the Blues in this remarkable turnaround.

    2. The city of St. Louis
Why? The Gateway City is the eighth city to complete the Big Four Pro Sports set with the Stanley Cup title.

    3. The 1967 NHL Expansion Era class
Why? All six teams from the 1967 NHL Expansion era has at least one Stanley Cup title.

    Three Duds
    1. Guessing Game Part 1
Why? 11 current franchises have yet to win it all for the very first time. With the Blues breaking through, who's the next team who will break their first Stanley Cup title ever drought?

    2. Guessing Game Part 2
Why? In terms of franchises that have longer gaps between previous titles, the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently at 52 years while the Philadelphia Flyers are at 44. The Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks have yet to win their very first title. With the Leafs, Flyers, Sabres and Canucks still waiting, will some of those teams eclipse the New York Rangers for the longest Stanley Cup title wait in NHL history? The Rangers had a 54-year wait.

    3. City of Boston
Why? Sorry Beantown, but no Big Four Pro Sports Grand Slam for you.

In all, I enjoyed another season of talking hockey with all of you. See you next season.
