LOL. I live 2 1/2 miles from the Coliseum. Sorry I can't share your excitement for Barclays. Those stairs at Jamaica Station get taller every year.

Yeah, I'm watching Caps-Canes with particular interest. My ladyfriend is from NC and is a Hurricanes fan so they are sort of my "other" team. I was very impressed how they responded Monday night, know-it-all Pierre McGuire talked like the series was over after Ovechkin laid out Svechnikov Instead it lit a fire under the Hurricanes and they dominated. I'll tell you this: The Capitals better end this thing soon. The Hurricanes have younger legs and a long series is not what the Caps want.

We really need the Leafs to take out the Bruins. Boston is the one team in the Eastern Conference that I do not think the Isles have a chance to beat in the playoffs.

The b's are a beatable team if the Refs call the game at all, not tight, just not swallowing the whistles completely. If the Leafs lose to b's I will immediately be a huge Isles fan.
That said, a NYI/TOR series would be awesome from a skill perspective.

I believe the Isles have one win over the Bruins over the last three seasons. And they lost all three to them this season.

Bad news. But at least Hickey can replace him. Looks like Clutterbuck will be ok. He would be a huge loss.

Bruins eliminate Maple Leafs. Pajama boy can watch the Islanders on TV in the next round.

    Re: Let's Go Islanders! 2018-2019!

Hurricanes pull it off with 2OT win over Caps. I think they'll be tougher than most Islander fans think but just glad to get Ovechkin out of the picture.

The Canes' corps of defensemen is very impressive, except for ex-Islander Calvin de Haan who still sucks. Tonight he somehow lost track of Ovechkin and let him float free near the goal in overtime, and Ovi got off a lightning bolt of a shot that hit Mrazek square in the face and knocked his cage off. A couple of inches to either side and we'd be playing the Caps.

Hurricanes will be tough but I like the Isles chances against them better than the Caps. Not just Ovi. Holtby is an elite goaltender. Canes goalie not in his class.

Not easy to give up just 6 goals (Not counting the EN) in three games and manage to lose all three games. Isles out played the Canes in games 1 & 2 but it seems like every mistake turns into a Canes goal. Plus Canes 35 year old backup goaltender turns into Patrick Roy. Isles should be at worst be down only 2-1. Hope for a win tonight to get the series back to Brooklyn on Sunday. No knock on Lehner but wonder if Greiss gets the start tonight in goal.

Not exactly the same but a bit of a 1976 Yankees vibe to this season. Fantastic ride that ended with an ugly thud.

Good point. But hopefully better days ahead for the Isles.

And we all know how 1977 ended for the Yankees

I’m super excited about next season - Trotz and Lamoriello have instilled confidence in the players. They bought in and saw instant benefits. It’s only going to get better from here. Trotz and Lamoriello have had a full year to assess under their belts and I expect this summer will be an exciting one as they address the gaps they’ve identified.

I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if two of Panarin, Subban, Duchesne, Marner, Skinner or Karlsson end up wearing blue and orange next season.

Yes. But first Lou has to sign Lehner and Lee to new contracts.

$29M remaining in cap space. Some of that better go to Lee.

He was great but the reason I singled out Lee is that Lehner's history of personal/substance problems makes me just a bit nervous. I do want him back, though, he and Lee would be my top 2 "must try to keep." Just hope Robin is reasonable on salary demands, a mild "hometown discount" would help, since Bobrovsky is out there if Lehner demands too much.

I hate the idea of 3 captains in 3 years which is what the deal will be if Lee goes. I don't care about baseball captaincy at all but I do think it carries a bit of weight in hockey, maybe I'm wrong.

    Eberle? See ya.

I agree. Want Lee back too. And I think Lehner will be ok if we can keep him. If Lee does not sign I bet they make Brock the captain since he will be here for the next six years.

Still nothing about Lee and Lehner. Starting to look like a year ago with Tavares.
