Yeah he shouldn’t cost that much

I suspect that Cashman is going to have to get creative to improve the pitching at the deadline. Hamels is the only true impact veteran pitcher that will surely be available.

Sounds like he actually wants to pitch here.

Translation.... the Yankees can pick up my 20 million dollar option if they want me.

    Here are his options:
Come to NY; don't have your option picked up (and maybe get $500k for waiving your NTC)
Stay in Texas; don't have your option picked up

I'm not sure why everyone is so high on him anyway. WHIP above 1.2; 9HR in 9 starts.
A fool and his money can throw one heck of a party!

The Yankee fanbase will be watching him closely tonight.

which, either way, is just one start.

Yeah, it's just one start, but I like seeing a guy play as it gives context to his metrics for me.

Ok let's give up some of our ridiculous depth to get Hamels:

Drury, Austin and Chance Adams for Hamels. Hamels can negotiate for a $10M buyout instead of $6M to waive his NTC

Dee Gordon broke his big toe. If only Ellsbury was healthy and being productive.

Is Seattle jinxed? First 2B and now CF.

We desperately need a #2 pitcher. We have a #1 and four #4 pitchers.
