Cole wasn't the pitcher he is now. And we honestly don't know if he would be had he come to NY instead of Houston.

Fulmer has also quietly turned his season around. After an awful May, he's been his normal self the last month or so.

He's still likely not that 1a starter we need but if the slow start means we can buy-low on him, I'd certainly kick the tires. Frazier + Sheffield + Acevedo seems like a high price tag tho.

yes definitely forgotten, my mother's a terrible person.

but regardless of all that, the point remains that Cole wasn't the pitcher he has been this season even if you remove the "would he have been the same pitcher in NY as he is in HOU"

How is this garbage on mlb.com?

I don't think they're going to get a lot back for Machado on his own. For a three-month rental, you're not going to give up your best prospect. But if you throw in Givens in a Machado deal? You'd get a ton back. Machado and Givens might get you Gleyber Torres.

But is that enough for the Orioles to deal.

I want Machado as much as the next guy, but I would NOT give up Frazier for him. Good thing Bowden rarely has any idea what he's talking about.

The Mets will never trade deGrom to us.

Frazier will never be a regular here. Too many roadblocks. And maybe they plan to take a run at Harper. If that happens where is Frazier playing?

About a month ago I would have agreed, but if we can get Machado from the Orioles than anything is possible.

Understood, but his value is much higher than being the main piece in a trade for a rental player, despite how good the rental player is.

Bowden is an idiot. He's just naming people. He has no inside source. No way Frazier is included in a rental.

He should also be used for pitching, not an upgrade at 3B for 2 months when the guy we have there already is already helping out quite a bit.

The Orioles do not play in the same city as the Yankees. The Mets do. The teams rarely deal for even marginal players. Even if the trade was favorable to the Mets it is not happening.
