    Yep, but some of them only go back to Jeter in 1995. 1952 is a long time ago.

    His approach is so calm. You would think that he's a veteran who played 10 years in the league already.

    What a nice swing this kid has, plus he's a smooth fielder. Years away from his prime too, so who knows what kind of performances are ahead of him.
    Let the kids play.

    "I think he's played really well," Boone said. "I think he's been outstanding in the field. I knew he was a good defender. He's been great out there. There's a confidence, there's a heartbeat, there's a clock that he plays with out there that's really impressive. Just watching with my eyes the way he goes after a ball, it almost reminds me of Javy Baez a little bit, the way he plays out there. There's just a real comfort."
    "First of all, great play up the middle [on Simmons] that he made look really easy," Boone said. "But the double-play ball he turned, just no rush, a calmness to the way he does it. He's got really good hands for playing second, he's got a shortstop's arm. That's a bonus.

    Re: 2018 Gleyber Torres Performance Thread

    Scouts rave about Torres' focus and presence, which he showed in the second inning on Saturday, as Angels reliever....Eduardo Paredes....dusted the rookie with a 93.7-mph fastball up and in. Torres rose and whacked the next pitch into left field for a run-scoring single, swelling the Yankees' lead to 10 runs.

    "I'm hungry and waiting for him," Torres said of Paredes.

    That's a nice story about both Torres and Andújar.

    Good thing that Andujar and Torres opted not to sign apartment leases during their time in Triple-A, instead resting their heads at the team hotel. They could be here to stay.

    There's no doubt about. It's rare that those types of traits that are hyped in the minors actually show up in the majors at all and certainly not immediately.

    Still on track to go undefeated for his career, 8-0 now.

    I love his approach at the plate. Never seems out of sorts or cheated/fooled.

    @ktsharp

    Small sample alert but ... Entering today, Gleyber Torres had 3 Def Runs Saved in 90 innings. His rate of 33 DRS/1000 innings is highest among MLB 2nd baseman this season (min. 90 innings).

    NY has only allowed 19 runs in his 11 games, he really is a defensive weapon. He reminds me a little of a young Robbie Alomar in the field, this has to be the best 2B/SS defensive combo NY has had in a long time, maybe ever.

    He is smooth and this is what you're get when you have SS with very good fielding skills playing 2nd base.

    Kid just did a post game interview and despite not having the best English speaking skills he gave it a shot without using his translator. That's pretty brave.
