    NYYFans FB League - 2018 Week 4

Ah, week 4. Nearly half the teams (9) have a record of 2-1. 6 Teams at the 1-2 mark. Do the math, that leaves 5 teams who are not a game above or a game below .500. 3 Teams look to get win 1 in Week 4. Which leaves just two teams hoping for the impossible dream of a perfect season.

This upcoming week only one MLB game has been postponed so far. It could be a happy Patriot's day for the Powerplant this year.

Here's who plays who for the upcoming week:

    Formal Ferrets (1-2) @ Wolverines (2-1)
    Judgement Day (2-1) @ Buckeye Nation (1-2)
    The Lumberjacks (2-1) @ Evil Empire (1-2)
    Planet Express (2-1) @ Felonious Punks (2-1)
    Powerplant (0-3) @ Miko's Marauders (2-1)
Mrs. Bill and Sluggo (1-2) @ Romanian Yankees (2-1)
    HobokenSquatCobblers (2-1) @ Carolina Force (0-3)
    Guys with Wood (3-0) @ Larrupin' Lou's (0-3)
    The Empire Strikes Back (1-2) @ Babe's Blasts (1-2)
    Hobbled Men (2-1) @ Ligers (3-0)

CBS ‘Preview” scoring had me winning every week, and I’m 0-3.

The devil is that CBS is horrible at projections. Deadly horrible. And their Owner Stats are based on their horrible projections.

I'm convinced if I bench the ailing Eric Thames he will play all week and score 50 points, but if I keep him in the lineup, the Brewers'll put him on the DL 1 second after the roster locks on him.

Actually my hand was forced because of the lack of SP availability. I had to roll with him, no choice. He may very well get lit up his next start. I wouldn’t fret now man. It’s going to be a long and stressful week for me.

I'd feel a lot better about it if I didn't only have 5 starts this week, and 0 confidence in my starters outside of Strasburg.

Here we are. Saturday - Week 4 of Winterball. That means a JDPNYY little newsletter must be coming soon. Well, it is.

How's eet going on Saturday (in Red):

    Formal Ferrets (1-2) @ Wolverines (2-1)
We start off with a tight match. The tuxedoed slender rats have built up a minor 14 pt lead in search of win 2. Hey, they also have a 1-0 PSR ad. Can PCob put up another 49 points?
    Team Leaders:
    FF: Well - St Patty O'Corbin 49
    MW: Rick (front) Porcello 24

    Judgement Day (2-1) @ Buckeye Nation (1-2)
Buckeye Nation is also eyeing win 2, as they forged into a 58.5 pt lead. JudgEment Day has major hope tho, due to their 3-1 PSR advantage. We shall see if that really turns out to be an advantage. If not, both teams could settle in at a comfy .500.
    Team Leaders:
JD: Manny (playing hard for that pay day) Machado 32
BN: Jon why throw to first?) Lester 26.5

    The Lumberjacks (2-1) @ Evil Empire (1-2)
The Lumberjacks have a lot of nerve having a lead on the Exceptional Evil Empire, but they do, by 10 points. Surely the Zombie gods will right that wrong over the next 2 days. The top-drawer Empire will surely use their 2-1 PSR advantage to their advantage.
    Team Leaders:
    tL: Eggwardo Rodriguez 20.5
    (S)EE: Daniel (who?) Mengdulllesomething 28

    Planet Express (2-1) @ Felonious Punks (2-1)
You can't get much closer than this dual. The less than law-abiding Punks have eeked out a 3 point lead as of this writing. This should be a fun weekend for this one as the pitching starts remaining are many, with both teams having a whopping 4 left.
    Team Leaders:
PE: Lance McCrullers (mmm, cuellers) 32.5
FP: Jake (that rake) Arrieta 33

    Powerplant (0-3) @ Miko's Marauders (2-1)
Whoopsie. I guess you can get closer that that last one. The Powerplant looking to get in the win column and the Radiant Canadian ARE as close as you can get. The score is knotted at 180.5 to, you guessed it 180.5. Here in the USA, we call that a tie score. Something has to give. Will the plant get loss 4, or tie 1 or win 1. Three things could happen here. Let's takalook at the PSRs... Sigh, 2-2. Suchatie.
    Team Leaders:
SNP: George (the Spaniel) Springer 28
MM: Yasmany (the dragon) Grendal - AND- Rafael (Leave it to) Devers 23.5 each

Mrs. Bill and Sluggo (1-2) @ Romanian Yankees (2-1)
We get to our first relatively lopsided face off of the week. The Bucharest Bullies have a 36.5 pt lead over the Mrs and her husband's nemesis. Pitching starts are tied at 1. Not so close.
    Team Leaders:
MBS: Justin (the King of the small country of) Verlander 26.5
RY: Jake Junis (the month after May) 27

    HobokenSquatCobblers (2-1) @ Carolina Force (0-3)
The WeehawkenWonkieWobblers have a 20.5 point lead on the Force, who are in search of a win. The WWWs also have a 3-2 point PSR ad. If the WWW's three put up similar numbers as their first start this week, the Force may be looking for that 1st win next week.
    Team Leaders:
    WWW: (Heeeeeeeeeeeere's) Johnny Cueto 28.5
    CF: Luis (Ace) Severino 30

    Guys with Wood (3-0) @ Larrupin' Lou's (0-3)
Looks likely lousy for Larrupin Lou. The Guys and Dolls with Wood have a 59.5 point lead and a 3-2 PSR ad. When the dust clears late Sunday night, the Guys and Dolls will, no doubt, remain the only undefeated team.
    Team Leaders:
    G&DwW: Brett (escargot) Snell 26.5
LL: Michael Wacha Wacha Wacha 22.5

    The Empire Strikes Back (1-2) @ Babe's Blasts (1-2)
In this war of Blasts and Strikes, it's the Empire that is way ahead. ESB leads by fittyfive, and have a 3-2 PSR advantage. There's still slim hope for the Blast this week, but it's quite faint.
    Team Leaders:
    ESB: (Yin)Yang Solarte 29
    BB: Mookie (Howser) Betts 31

    Hobbled Men (2-1) @ Ligers (3-0)
And our last game of the week... The Ligers find themselves in trouble, they do have a small lead (8.5 pts) but find themselves on the wrong end of a 3-2 PRS mark. The Commish looks primed to blemish the perfect record of everyone's favorite team.
    Team Leaders:
    HM: Javy (joan) Baez 28
    L: Gerrit Cole (slaw) 26.5

How's eet going on Saturday (in Red):
...and now, we predict, cuz that's what Sunday is for (in Blue)

    Formal Ferrets (1-2) @ Wolverines (2-1)
We start off with a tight match. The tuxedoed slender rats have built up a minor 14 pt lead in search of win 2. Hey, they also have a 1-0 PSR ad. Can PCob put up another 49 points?
    Team Leaders:
    FF: Well - St Patty O'Corbin 49
    MW: Rick (front) Porcello 24

The Slender Rets lead by 31.5 and have the only PSR. They will win to put each team at .500.

JD has the BNs by a slim half dozen pt lead, but JDs hope of Kluber having a Klunker more than likely will go poof. BNat wins and we have 2 more teams at .500.

    The Lumberjacks (2-1) @ Evil Empire (1-2)
The Lumberjacks have a lot of nerve having a lead on the Exceptional Evil Empire, but they do, by 10 points. Surely the Zombie gods will right that wrong over the next 2 days. The top-drawer Empire will surely use their 2-1 PSR advantage to their advantage.
    Team Leaders:
    tL: Eggwardo Rodriguez 20.5
    (S)EE: Daniel (who?) Mengdulllesomething 28

The Jacks jacked up their lead to a half a tick over 3 dozen. That is enough to get them to 3 wins and avoid having 2 more teams at .500.

    Planet Express (2-1) @ Felonious Punks (2-1)
You can't get much closer than this dual. The less than law-abiding Punks have eeked out a 3 point lead as of this writing. This should be a fun weekend for this one as the pitching starts remaining are many, with both teams having a whopping 4 left.
    Team Leaders:
PE: Lance McCrullers (mmm, cuellers) 32.5
FP: Jake (that rake) Arrieta 33

Mike Clevengers's 44.5 point Saturday put a dent in the Express' dream of a third win. With a 35 pt lead and 2 PSRs for each team the Punks should be looking at a share of the lead in Joe's Division. However... Something is telling me that Lance will score a lot (get it) against the lowly ChiSox, like a whole lot... Going out on a limb (and admittedly, this is wishful thinking), I'm going with the PEx to pull off the upset.

Team Leaders:
SNP: George (the Spaniel) Springer 28
MM: Yasmany (the dragon) Grendal - AND- Rafael (Leave it to) Devers 23.5 each

24 hours ago, this was tied. Miko had his 2 Starters go on Saturday and built up a 22.5 pt lead. Flanders has his two going today.

    deliberation....

I predict the Plant pulls off the win.

A man named Lucas has sunk the Romanian ship this week. Mrs will pull off the upset and win this thing. Another 2 .500's.

    HobokenSquatCobblers (2-1) @ Carolina Force (0-3)
The WeehawkenWonkieWobblers have a 20.5 point lead on the Force, who are in search of a win. The WWWs also have a 3-2 point PSR ad. If the WWW's three put up similar numbers as their first start this week, the Force may be looking for that 1st win next week.
    Team Leaders:
    WWW: (Heeeeeeeeeeeere's) Johnny Cueto 28.5
    CF: Luis (Ace) Severino 30

The HobokenSwabtheDecks increased their lead to 38. PSRs are tied at 2. I'm going chalk here an picking Hoboken, but the Pitching matchups are in the favor of the Force. Don't be surprised if the Force do take this one.

The Woodies are a lock here. No chance for the LLs.

The ESBs are a lock here. No chance for the BBs.

    Hobbled Men (2-1) @ Ligers (3-0)
And our last game of the week... The Ligers find themselves in trouble, they do have a small lead (8.5 pts) but find themselves on the wrong end of a 3-2 PRS mark. The Commish looks primed to blemish the perfect record of everyone's favorite team.
    Team Leaders:
    HM: Javy (joan) Baez 28
    L: Gerrit Cole (slaw) 26.5

The dream ends here. No perfect season for the Ligers. Darkness and gloom has set in. Many will cry, some sobbing for weeks on end. It is finished.

Hobbled Men will win this one as the Ligers hobble away.

That's it from me. Have a nice Sunday.
