    2018 Chasen Shreve Performance Thread

Tonight he became the first pitcher since 1912 (probably ever) to have a game with all of this:

    1 1/3 or fewer innings
At least 3 strikeouts (I doubt anybody had 3 strikeouts in 1 1/3 or fewer innings before 1912)
At least 1 reached on error
    At least 1 grand slam
    At least 1 walk
At least 1 hit by pitch
    At least 4 unearned runs
    0 earned runs

Shreve has been bad a while, and another Cashman mistake to have on the roster. Lefty reliever should have been upgraded in the offseason.

Pitching well enough to stay on the roster and recruit his college friend Bryce.

I like how Boone is using Shreve to start the innings rather than putting him in to face a LHH in a clutch situation as a LOOGY. Me. I had no confidence in him last year - what a difference. I agree with some other - I don't want a LOOGY anymore (maybe when we expand the roster).

Pure garbage. Only on the team because he throws with his left hand. Results aren’t factored into his status with the team.

    Way past his expiration date.

Needs to be DFA'd right after the game.

DFA this guy already. There should have been no need to bring in Chapman.

I'd love to know what proprietary analytics the Yankees might have that can possibly show that this guy is any good. If they do have such formulae, burn them.

I'm not one to jump on the "get rid of the player" band wagon, but he has to go. He's just not good enough for this team.

He's a spin rate guy. His fastball rates high.

He's trash though, and Cash needed to make a change and get an actual LOOGY yesterday.

Re: 2018 Chasen Shreve Performance Thread

As soon as I saw that Shreve was going to come into the game, I started to laugh out loud as I realized two things was going to happen. He was going to give it up and secondly, there will be posts decrying his presence on the Yankees. TBH, I can't stand watching him any longer and Cashman needs to get rid of him because he's just not good enough.

Can he be gone by tomorrow? Honestly we have to have better options, just because he's a lefty doesn't mean he should be here

They’re gonna let him pitch until his arm falls off tonight and then DFA him after the game. I feel confident in saying that. Thankfully.

Most of us have been saying this for three years so I’m operating on the assumption he has pictures of Cashman in a compromising position.

I hope so as the fan base is done with him.

I blame Boone. Gordon had 2 bad ABs against Loaisiga, let him finish the 4th. If youre determined to bring someone in, bring in someone who is more likely to succeed in such a high leverage situation. For Chrisakes the bullpen is going to pitch 5+ innings anyway, so why would you bring in the worst guy to get a must have out with 2 out and 2 RISP?

They didn't, and I'll be surprised if they do.
