I don't know how Dellin has anything to do with German.

If Dellin is not used regularly, his control abandons him. Dellin is 30. ... Get it?

He needs to be in SWB to see if we can make him a SP, get more innings, and develop that slider.

Isn’t that what he did last year?

Not enough. He was moved up too fast AA - AAA - MLB last year. It takes time to develop a pitch (slider) and he is not getting innings as a reliever. I don't feel he is ready and don't like him as a reliever and would like to see him possibly be a 6th pitcher option. He had only 76 inning in SWB last year.

We have other pitchers that are relievers like Holden who is replacing Warren.

I like German and want him in SWB. Yesterday was the proof. Put him on the shuttle.

Right now, they need him pitching regularly out of the Yankee bullpen with Warren, Kanhle and Cessa out. Germán can't go eight days between appearances.

Thanks. Fair. We have Carroll and Lail (the guy I like is Gallepos but he still back there) and maybe it was the 8 days but I feel Germán needs more time in the minors. We have a bunch that have 2 pitches pitchers that can be relievers but Germán has 4 now. Coney kept on saying slider was off; according to pitchFX it's was his curveball that was off. If he can get a slider and better curveball; it will be sweet (fastball and changeup are nice and slider is good). We need to see if he can be a starter rather than a reliever.

I don't see any world where Monty being hurt is a "blessing" unless you can guarantee that a) Tanaka's elbow keeps holding up; b) CC's knee keeps holding up; c) Sonny finds his way to OK-ness like last night.

Could be a little bit of both. If Monty's injury turns out to be a minor one and he only misses a start or two, it opens the door to watching what German can do with his filth as a starter.

    Why not?

If he could at least have decent command, his stuff could really take over.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

German has always had the talent and repertoire. Just a matter of opportunity and, most crucial, health.
