I said it in the game thread. Sanchez is very poor defensive catcher.

Actually it wasn't that off the line in my opinion, was a little to the right side of home plate but a makeable play. Better angle is the second part of the replay.

No, most people do not know that. Most feel that, because he has a good arm and can frame, it is perfectly acceptable that he can not catch. We have a "catcher" who can't catch.

And if you call that out, you become ostracized. And then there is his woeful offense. If he gets one hit a week it is used as justification for his anointment as a deity.

His last at bat today was so bad. He watched a fastball down the middle and then swung at two sliders in the dirt.

I feel like the people who keep calling him a below average catcher are the same ones who think Austin Romine is better defensively. Because you know, having a below average arm and being a worse pitch framer is negated by the fact he can block balls in the dirt.

At 26% CS, Sanchez is below league average (27%) this season.

At 31% CS, Romine is above league average this season.

Or very good defensive positioning. LF didn’t have to move for the first two line drives.

Took the first pitch from Colome right down the middle. He was measuring him up before the HR blast.

He's in a good groove. The ball just isn't finding open grass atm.

People will still see the outs in the box score though.

His at bats have looked a little better the last few games. Hopefully he is coming out of his funk.

hitting the ball hard is one thing results are the only thing that matters he is still hitting 194....for a guy who should be a 280-290 hitter...
