Pitching coach maybe, but what does a bench coach even really do these days? He's not in the managers ears all game about what moves to make. The way it works today is that the manager has a bunch of information from the analytics team that tells him everything he needs to know about the matchups. The Pitching coach monitors the pitcher and the manager is supposed to combine that all with hopefully some general baseball wisdom to make sound decisions. The bench coach probably has more of a role in the locker room and team meetings and supporting the manager on in-going strategies, but isn't really another in-game strategist like perhaps that role was in the past when the manager didn't have some much information at his disposal. Where this coaching staff has failed is more in Boone's inability to combine all the information at his disposal with sound judgment. His judgement is consistently poor. I guess if you had a better bench coach maybe he'd tell Boone off or something, but he wouldn't stay in that role long if he did.

Also on the pitching coach, I think people exaggerate the impact they can have. I'm not saying Rosthchild has done anything exceptionally well and should stay (in fact I think the opposite), but who is to say that he hasn't identified the issues with Sevy and Sevy is unable to correct it midseason? Pitching isn't easy.

Cashman is one of the best GMs in the game and Iím still confident that he will get it done and win a WS title in the very near future with an improved roster and better in-game decisions by a more experienced manager after his first year of managing.
