Everyone has to believe in themselves. Based on his non Yankee career, he has every right to think like that.

Please, someone remind Sonny he was pitching against the Orioles. The worst team in the majors!

I like his new found swagger that he's one of the best pitchers in the Major League, however if I was Boone, I would not start him again at Yankees Stadium. On the road where his ERA is a very good 3.20, start him in Oakland for sure. Other AL parks known as a pitcher's park, start Gray there as well.

No, Dilly (Dylan Bundy) was the Orioles' pitcher Sunday night.

A Pickles-Dilly matchup would have been something to see.

    A Pickles-Dilly circus.

What a weird game tonight. Sonny Gray was the worst (he gave up the only run and all two of the hits) of all the relievers yet because he pitched two innings and left with the Yankees leading 3-1, the scorer awarded him the win.

More than the weirdness of the game, this is an indictment about the value of the Win as a statistic for pitchers. It may have been relevant 30 years ago, when there was an expectation a pitcher would finish what he started. But today, the stat's value is pretty much zero.
